The SKF 3210 ATN9 angular contact ball bearing, measuring 50 × 90 × 30.2 mm, provides a double-row arrangement for combined radial and axial loads in both directions.
The 3210 ATN9 angular contact ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing from the SKF Explorer range with a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 30.2 mm width. It accommodates both radial loads and axial forces in both directions simultaneously. The open design allows direct contact with the lubricant in the surrounding system. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, the bearing ring retains its dimensional stability even during continuous industrial use.
Design engineers primarily use this double-row bearing where rigid shaft guidance is required and tilting moments occur. Thanks to its contact angle of 30 degrees, the 3210 ATN9 angular contact ball bearing transmits axial forces on both sides at an angle to the radial plane. Typical applications include bearing arrangements with combined load profiles and limited installation space. Compared with two paired single bearings, the closed double-row design requires less axial space, which facilitates compact housing designs.
The integrated polyamide cage contributes to quiet running and low friction, and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +120 degrees. With dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 and running accuracy to P5, the bearing is suitable for precisely guided shafts with normal radial clearance requirements. In this open design without integrated sealing washers, lubrication is supplied via the housing system, which also provides protection against environmental influences.
A double-row roller bearing with a bore diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 30.2 mm. It accommodates radial loads and axial forces acting in both directions via two rows of balls. The SKF Explorer quality version combines dimensional accuracy of class P6 with a tighter P5 running accuracy for smooth concentricity.
The contact angle defines the direction in which the load is transmitted from the raceways to the rolling elements. An angle of 30 degrees enables the effective absorption of combined radial and axial forces. As a result, the component also supports axial thrust forces in alternating directions within a compact bearing unit.
The suffix ATN9 indicates a polyamide cage. This material reduces the rotational mass of the roller guide and promotes quiet operation with low friction. According to the specification, the permissible temperature range for this cage design is between -20 and +120 degrees.
As an open roller bearing, this variant has neither abiding seals nor cover plates. Lubricants from the surrounding housing reach the balls unhindered. Designs incorporating this bearing use external housing seals to protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture.
This angular contact ball bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This design is suitable for standard conditions without extreme temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. The specified radial clearance ensures that the balls run freely on the raceways under the intended installation and operating conditions.
This combination brings together dimensional accuracy to Class P6 with the more finely tuned running accuracy of Class P5. Whilst P6 limits the permissible deviations for bore, outer diameter and bearing width, P5 reduces radial and axial run-out errors during operation. This helps to ensure low-vibration operation of the shaft.
