FAG 7218 -B-XL-TVP-UO angular contact ball bearing, dimensions 90x160x30 mm, for combined loads when mounted without clearance.
The angular contact ball bearing 7218 -B-XL-TVP-UO is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a 90 mm bore, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 30 mm. Thanks to its integrated contact angle of 40 degrees, this open bearing accommodates not only radial forces but also single-sided axial forces. The design complies with standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1 and has standard radial clearance.
This angular contact ball bearing is typically used in shaft mountings where radial loads and defined axial loads act simultaneously in one direction. The contact angle of 40 degrees enables a high axial load capacity along the line of action between the inner and outer rings. Such bearing arrangements are frequently found in mechanical assemblies that require axial guidance of the rotating shaft. As the bearing is of an open design, it must be integrated into an external lubrication system using grease or lubricating oil.
The suffix ‘UO’ denotes a universal bearing designed for installation in pairs. When fitted as a bearing pair in an O or X arrangement, the bearing assembly is adjusted to be play-free without the need for additional shims. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly and keeps the weight of the rotating components low. When designing the system, please note the permissible temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
With a bore diameter of 90 mm and a contact angle of 40 degrees, this FAG design accommodates combined loads. The component is made from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and features a lightweight polyamide cage.
The bore is 90 mm, the outer diameter is 160 mm and the width is 30 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no flange or circumferential groove.
A contact angle of 40 degrees transmits forces obliquely to the radial plane through the bearing. Compared with smaller contact angles, this steeper angle enables the bearing to accommodate higher axial forces in the direction of the load.
The designation ‘UO’ stands for universally combinable bearings. When arranged in pairs in an O or X configuration, the bearing pair runs without play once installed.
This model does not have any integrated seals or cover plates. You must therefore protect the bearing housing from dirt using external sealing elements and lubricate it using a suitable grease or oil supply.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. The upper temperature limit is determined by the dimensionally stable polyamide cage that guides the rolling elements.
