The FAG 7310 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing, with a 50 mm bore, 110 mm outer diameter and a 40-degree contact angle, offers high load-carrying capacity for combined forces.
The FAG 7310 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6), which is specifically designed to accommodate combined radial and axial forces in one direction. With key dimensions of 50 mm inner diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and a width of 27 mm, this open design is suitable for industrial drives and gearboxes. The contact angle of 40 degrees enables it to accommodate considerable axial forces. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
Designs subject to single-sided axial loads whilst simultaneously承受ing radial forces constitute the main area of application for this bearing. Thanks to the 40-degree contact angle, the rolling bearing supports axial forces, whilst the smooth-running polyamide cage accommodates speeds within an operating temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees. The component is primarily used in shaft bearings subjected to axial forces acting from one side. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, lubrication is provided via the lubrication circuit of the surrounding assembly.
The UA designation indicates that this angular contact ball bearing is universally suitable for installation in pairs. If two bearings are mounted in an O or X arrangement, a defined, small amount of axial clearance is established without the need for shims. This feature significantly simplifies the installation of double-row bearing arrangements. For the design, this means reduced coordination effort, whilst individual bearings can be flexibly combined into bearing pairs as required.
This bearing has an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no groove or flange. Before installation, the shaft and housing seats must be checked to ensure a correct fit in accordance with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1).
The contact angle of 40 degrees, indicated by the suffix ‘B’, determines the force transmission between the inner and outer rings. In angular contact ball bearings, loads are transmitted at an angle to the radial plane. A 40-degree angle enables the bearing to accommodate high axial forces in one direction whilst simultaneously being subjected to radial forces.
The abbreviation UA denotes a universal design for installation in pairs. When two bearings are fitted in an O or X configuration, the design ensures a small amount of axial clearance. This reduces the effort required for adjustment during installation, as no additional spacer rings are needed to set the axial clearance.
The suffix TVP denotes a polyamide cage. Polyamide cages are characterised by their low weight, smooth running characteristics and low noise levels. The permissible temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees. When selecting lubricants, care must be taken to ensure chemical compatibility with the plastic.
As the 7310 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing does not have any integrated cover or sealing washers, the bearing housing requires an external seal to protect against dirt and moisture. Lubrication is provided either by grease or by the gearbox’s oil bath. A clean supply of lubricant protects the rolling elements and raceways, which are made of rolling bearing steel (100Cr6), against wear.
UA-type universal bearings are suitable for tandem, O or X configurations. The O configuration accommodates axial loads from both directions as well as tilting moments and provides a wide support base. The X arrangement also accommodates axial forces from both sides, but is better able to tolerate minor misalignments. The tandem arrangement concentrates the axial load-carrying capacity in one direction.
