The FAG 7200 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing (10x30x9 mm) accommodates unilateral axial and radial forces thanks to its 40-degree contact angle.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing 7200 -B-XL-TVP from FAG is designed for combined loads with a significant axial component. Its compact main dimensions – with a bore diameter of 10 mm, an outside diameter of 30 mm and a width of 9 mm – enable space-saving designs. As an open rolling bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, it is suitable for operation in oil- or grease-lubricated systems. The dimensionally stable polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction and high precision.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings of this design transmit radial forces as well as axial forces in a direction at an angle to the bearing axis. Typical applications include shaft mountings with defined unilateral guiding forces. As the bearing only accommodates axial forces in one direction, the design usually requires a second rolling bearing arranged in the opposite axial direction. The P0 tolerance class meets standard industrial requirements in mechanical engineering and fixture construction.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a polyamide cage. This material reduces the bearing weight and contributes to favourable friction coefficients. When designing the bearing, the permissible temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees Celsius must be taken into account. As an open bearing, the bearing location requires external sealing via the housing covers. The 40-degree contact angle (designation letter B) enables a high axial load-carrying capacity in the intended load direction.
This single-row roller bearing has an inside diameter of 10 mm, an outside diameter of 30 mm and a width of 9 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove, which means the component can be fitted flush into cylindrical housing bores.
The contact angle determines the direction in which forces are transmitted between the raceways and the balls. A design with a 40-degree contact angle, identified by the suffix ‘B’, is particularly effective at absorbing axial forces in one direction. Compared with smaller contact angles, this increases the axial rigidity of the bearing arrangement.
Open angular contact ball bearings are supplied by the manufacturer without either cover plates or sealing plates. This design allows for direct lubrication via the housing lubrication system, for example by means of oil circulation or housing grease. However, it requires a clean installation environment and effective external seals on the shaft and housing cover to keep out contaminants.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This operating range is limited primarily by the integrated polyamide cage. For standard applications in industrial mechanical engineering, this range provides sufficient thermal headroom when suitable lubricants are used.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings accommodate axial forces in one direction only. In practice, they are therefore usually mounted in a face-to-face arrangement with a second rolling bearing, either in an O or X configuration. By positioning them face-to-face, the required operating clearance or a defined preload on the shaft can be precisely adjusted during operation.
