The SKF 7306 BEP angular contact ball bearing combines dimensions of 30x72x19 mm with a 40-degree contact angle and a lightweight polyamide cage for demanding bearing applications.
The 7306 BEP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6), which accommodates radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. With key dimensions of a 30 mm bore, 72 mm outside diameter and 19 mm width, this design complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. The open bearing, which has no flange or groove on the outer ring, features standard radial clearance. Maintenance engineers and designers use this component when precise guidance of the shaft under combined loads is required.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings such as the 7306 BEP are suitable for bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial loads in one direction. Thanks to the open design, the lubricant reaches the rolling elements and raceways unhindered. Typical applications include industrial bearing arrangements where shafts must be guided under axial thrust. To accommodate varying axial forces, the bearing is usually paired with a second bearing or fitted as a set.
The 40-degree contact angle gives the bearing increased axial load-carrying capacity in one direction. Forces are transmitted at an angle to the radial plane, resulting in high axial stiffness during operation. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction and ensures a low weight. Furthermore, the component is suitable for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. When selecting this bearing, please note that the open bearing requires a customer-supplied seal to protect against dirt.
The roller bearing has a bore of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. The outer ring is manufactured without a flange or groove. These standardised dimensions allow for direct replacement in existing assemblies whilst complying with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line of contact between the ball and the raceway relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees characterises bearings designed for high axial forces in one direction. The force is transmitted at an angle to the shaft axis.
The cage is made of polyamide, as indicated by the suffix in its designation. This material is characterised by its elastic running properties, low weight and reduced friction. The cage guides the balls precisely within the rolling element ring and retains its dimensional stability within the permissible temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
As an open bearing, this model has neither cover plates nor sealing discs. This design allows lubricating oil or grease to circulate freely directly onto the raceways. In sealed housings, the bearing is supplied directly by the surrounding lubrication system, whilst external housing seals prevent the ingress of particles.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. In the case of single-row angular contact ball bearings, the actual operating clearance or the desired preload is only established during assembly, when the component is positioned axially against a second bearing. Under normal operating conditions, the standard basic clearance ensures stable running.
The 7306 BEP angular contact ball bearing is designed for operation within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. This range is largely determined by the standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6 and the polyamide cage. Within these limits, the components reliably maintain their strength and dimensional stability in industrial applications.
