The FAG 7315 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing (75x160x37 mm) can accommodate high radial loads as well as unilateral axial loads with minimal axial play in the bearing assembly.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing 7315 -B-XL-TVP-UA from FAG is designed for industrial applications involving combined loads. Thanks to its dimensions – a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm – this rolling bearing accommodates radial forces as well as unidirectional axial forces. The design, made from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, is characterised by dimensional stability and standardised tolerances in accordance with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), which facilitates installation in existing assemblies.
This rolling bearing is typically used in bearing arrangements where defined guiding forces and high radial loads act simultaneously. Thanks to its nominal contact angle of 40 degrees, the design supports axial forces in one direction. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, it is suitable for systems supplied with lubricant in enclosed housings that protect against the ingress of dirt. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The suffix ‘UA’ denotes a universally adjustable single bearing for installation in pairs. When two bearings of this design are mounted in an O or X arrangement, a defined, small amount of axial clearance is established without the need for shims. The integrated TVP polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration and keeps the weight to a minimum. Lubrication is required for operation, as the bearing is of an open design.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. It is a single-row angular contact ball bearing with a cylindrical bore and a cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions of the 7315 series.
The 40-degree contact angle, denoted by the letter B, transmits the contact forces between the balls and raceways at an angle to the radial plane. This enables the component to accommodate not only high radial forces but also considerable axial forces in one direction. A combination of two bearings is required for axial loading on both sides.
The designation ‘UA’ stands for a universal design intended for installation in pairs. When two bearings are arranged in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial clearance is automatically established once they are fitted. This simplifies the alignment of the bearing assembly and eliminates the need for time-consuming adjustment work during installation.
The abbreviation TVP refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by low friction, smooth running properties and low weight. The cage guides the rolling elements and ensures quiet operation within the specified temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As an open bearing, the design is intended for installation environments in which sealing is provided by the housing or external sealing rings. The lubricant, usually lubricating oil or bearing grease, can circulate freely around the raceways. Open designs are particularly suitable for recirculating lubrication systems in enclosed machine housings.
Tolerance class P0 corresponds to the standard dimensional, geometric and running accuracy for rolling bearings; in the Anglo-American region, this is also referred to as ABEC 1. This tolerance class meets the requirements of general drive and mechanical engineering and facilitates cost-effective manufacturing whilst ensuring a precise fit on the shaft.
