The 7310 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with a 50 mm bore and an 110 mm outer diameter, offers a high axial load-carrying capacity in one direction.
The 7310 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). Thanks to its pronounced contact angle of 40 degrees, this design accommodates axial forces in one direction in addition to radial forces. The open bearing has standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN (ABEC 1). A polyamide cage guides the rolling elements within an operating temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel primarily use this bearing arrangement for combined loads where the axial force component predominates in one direction. As single-row designs, by their very nature, can only accommodate axial thrust on one side, they are frequently mounted in pairs, facing each other, in mechanical engineering applications. This arrangement allows axial counterforces to be absorbed in a controlled manner and the axial bearing clearance to be adjusted.
The nominal contact angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing a high axial load-carrying capacity compared to bearings with smaller contact angles. The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes the polyamide cage, which keeps friction low during operation and is suitable for standard lubricants. As the bearing has no integrated seals, a clean installation environment with external housing sealing is required. Before installation, the mounting dimensions of 50x110x27 mm and the specified mounting orientation must be checked.
A single-row angular contact ball bearing with an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm. Thanks to the raceways, which are offset at an angle to one another, and the contact angle of 40 degrees, the component can simultaneously accommodate radial loads and unilateral axial forces.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes the version with a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and elastic running properties. This contributes to smooth running within the specified temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The component absorbs radial forces as well as axial forces in exactly one direction. To accommodate axial forces acting in both directions, a second angular contact ball bearing must be fitted in the opposite direction. The contact angle of 40 degrees facilitates the absorption of high axial forces.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated sealing washers. This design allows for flexible choice of lubricant – either lubricating oil or grease – within the overall system. During the design phase, the user must provide external housing seals to protect the interior of the bearing housing from contamination and lubricant loss.
This model is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. It has standard radial bearing clearance. The actual operating clearance of the bearing assembly is established after installation by means of axial preload against a thrust bearing.
The combination of standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and a polyamide cage is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Standard industrial lubricants are suitable for this temperature range.
