The FAG 7206 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing, with dimensions of 30 × 62 × 16 mm and a contact angle of 40 degrees, can accommodate combined radial and single-direction axial loads.
The FAG 7206 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding applications. Made from 100Cr6 steel, the rings and rolling elements are characterised by high dimensional stability. This open bearing has no integrated sealing washers, allowing lubricant to reach the raceways unimpeded. Manufactured to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1 and featuring standard radial clearance, this component can be integrated in a variety of ways into precision shaft mountings.
This single-row bearing accommodates radial forces and axial forces in one direction. The raceways of the inner and outer rings are offset at an angle to one another, allowing forces to be transmitted at an angle to the radial plane. This rolling bearing is frequently used in pairs or as a paired arrangement when guide forces need to be supported in both directions. Typical applications include shaft mountings subject to axial thrust loads.
The contact angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing a high axial load capacity whilst maintaining a compact design. The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a polyamide cage, which guides the rolling elements quietly and has a low mass. An operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees is permitted. As the bearing is of an open design, you can tailor the choice of lubricant and the environmental sealing directly to your design.
The main dimensions are 30 mm internal diameter (bore), 62 mm external diameter and a width of 16 mm. The bearing has a cylindrical seat with no groove or flange on the outer ring.
The contact angle describes the line of force transmission between the ball and the raceway in relation to the radial plane. In a 40-degree version (designation B), the bearing reliably absorbs axial forces and is specifically suited to unilateral axial loads.
The suffix ‘TVP’ stands for a polyamide cage. This material reduces inertial forces during acceleration and ensures quiet bearing operation. Furthermore, the material is resistant to many commonly used industrial oils and greases within the permissible temperature range.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage and the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel used. For continuously higher operating temperatures, it is advisable to choose a version with a sheet metal or brass cage.
The bearing does not have any integrated cover plates or sealing discs. To keep contaminants out of the bearing and prevent lubricant from leaking out, the design must incorporate external sealing elements such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals in the housing cover.
The angular contact ball bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1). This tolerance class meets the usual precision requirements for conventional mechanical engineering and ensures reliable concentricity characteristics with standard fits on the shaft and in the housing.
