The SKF 7206 BECBP angular contact ball bearing, with a 30 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, provides precise guidance for combined loads.
The 7206 BECBP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) in the SKF Explorer design. With a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm, the design accommodates both radial forces and single-sided axial forces. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The design is intended for bearing arrangements in which radial loads are combined with axial forces acting from one side. Thanks to the contact angle of 40 degrees, the bearing absorbs axial forces in one direction. For alternating axial loads, the bearing is installed as a pair in an O or X arrangement. When mounted in pairs, this design has a low axial clearance on the operating side.
The nominal contact angle of 40 degrees determines the force transmission at an angle to the radial plane. In the design of the connecting components, the increased manufacturing precision facilitates precise fitting: the component has dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 and running accuracy to tolerance class P5. As an open bearing, this model has no integrated seals. The bearing housing therefore requires external sealing and a suitable lubrication system to prevent the ingress of contaminants and insufficient lubrication.
The main dimensions are 30 mm internal diameter (bore), 62 mm external diameter and 16 mm width. The outer ring has neither a groove nor a flange, which makes it easier to fit into cylindrical housing bores.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the contact points of the rolling elements and the raceways relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees allows for a higher capacity to absorb axial forces in one direction than designs with a smaller angle.
The polyamide cage guides the balls whilst keeping its own weight to a minimum, thereby reducing friction and operating noise. This component has a permissible temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius, which you should take into account during continuous operation.
As the component is supplied ex-works without sealing washers, external housing seals must protect the interior from contamination and moisture. Furthermore, the open design allows for the flexible choice of grease or lubricating oil, depending on the machine’s requirements.
The P6 grade indicates tighter dimensional tolerances for bores and external diameters than the standard. The running accuracy in accordance with Class P5 further reduces run-out error during operation, contributing to smooth running and increased precision.
Yes, the bearing is suitable for installation in sets. When fitted as a pair of bearings in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial play develops during operation, which allows reciprocal axial loads to be accommodated.
