The FAG 7314 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing, with a contact angle of 40 degrees and dimensions of 70x150x35 mm, is designed to handle combined loads.
The 7314 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a standard radial clearance. Due to the raceways on the inner and outer rings being offset at an angle to one another, this design is suitable for accommodating simultaneously acting radial and axial forces. In this open bearing, which has no flange or groove on the outer ring, a polyamide cage ensures the even guidance of the rolling elements at operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees.
This single-row bearing is primarily used where axial forces in one direction combine with radial loads. The contact angle of 40 degrees allows for a considerable axial load-carrying capacity along the line of action. Typical applications include gearbox shafts, pump drives and industrial units where precise shaft guidance is required. As a single bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, it is often fitted in conjunction with a second bearing mounted in the opposite direction.
The suffix ‘UA’ denotes a universal bearing designed for installation in pairs. If you mount two bearings of this type in an O or X arrangement facing each other, a small amount of axial clearance is established as a result of the design. You do not need any shims or complex fitting work for this. When designing the assembly, bear in mind that the open design requires a targeted supply of lubricant via the housing and must be protected against the ingress of foreign particles.
The bearing has an internal diameter (bore) of 70 mm, an external diameter of 150 mm and a width of 35 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a groove. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The contact angle describes the angle between the radial plane and the line of action of the transmitted rolling element forces. With its large angle of 40 degrees, indicated by the suffix ‘B’, this angular contact ball bearing accommodates comparatively high axial forces in one direction and reliably supports the shaft against axial thrust.
The designation ‘UA’ stands for universally adjustable single bearings, which are designed for installation in sets. If two bearings are mounted in an O or X configuration, a defined, small amount of axial clearance is automatically achieved in the bearing pair. This simplifies assembly, as there is no need to adjust the axial clearance manually.
The window cage, marked TVP, is made of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide and guides the balls through the bearing with minimal friction. The material absorbs shocks and reduces noise during operation. The permissible temperature range for the entire component is -20 to +120 degrees, which meets the requirements of most industrial applications.
As this roller bearing is supplied without integrated cover plates or sealing discs, it is not pre-lubricated at the factory. You should lubricate the bearing via the housing, using either oil or grease. The bearing housing should be protected externally from dirt and moisture by suitable radial shaft seals.
