The AH309 pull-off sleeve is used for fitting and removing roller bearings with a tapered bore onto metric 40 mm cylindrical shafts with a 1:12 taper.
The AH309 pull-off sleeve is used to secure roller bearings with a tapered bore onto cylindrical shafts with a diameter of 40 mm. The component has an outer diameter of 50 mm and a width of 31 mm. During assembly, press the slotted sleeve directly into the bearing seat, whilst the inner bearing ring is supported axially against a shaft shoulder. This allows the required bearing clearance to be adjusted in a controlled manner.
The AH309 pull-off sleeve is primarily used with rolling bearings mounted on smooth or stepped shafts with a cylindrical journal. Thanks to its tapered outer surface with a pitch ratio of 1:12, the component ensures a secure fit for self-aligning ball bearings or self-aligning roller bearings. Particularly in systems where rolling bearings are replaced repeatedly as part of maintenance intervals, this fastening element facilitates subsequent removal.
The 1:12 taper ratio of the AH309 pull-off sleeve must match exactly the tapered bore of the bearing being used. When designing the assembly, ensure that the bearing is supported against a fixed shaft shoulder during press-fitting. The scope of supply includes the sleeve in the standard version without a retaining plate or groove nut. You must select suitable groove nuts for assembly and disassembly, as well as the appropriate retaining elements, separately to match the sleeve’s thread.
With a bore diameter of 40 mm, an outside diameter of 50 mm and a width of 31 mm, this component is designed for metric shafts. The external taper, with a ratio of 1:12, is used to mount roller bearings with a matching tapered bore onto cylindrical shaft seats.
The 1:12 taper describes the pitch of the outer surface of the sleeve. When the AH309 withdrawal sleeve is pressed into the tapered bearing bore, the inner ring expands slightly. This measurably reduces the radial bearing clearance, resulting in a play-free and secure fit of the rolling bearing on the cylindrical shaft.
To remove the bearing, the user screws a groove nut onto the thread of the AH309 pull-off sleeve. When this nut is tightened against the inner ring of the bearing or a stop, it pulls the sleeve out of the bearing bore. The press fit is released in a controlled manner without damaging the shaft or the bearing raceways.
Metric cylindrical shafts with a diameter of 40 mm are required. As the sleeve is pushed axially into the bore, the design requires a solid shaft shoulder against which the inner bearing ring rests during the assembly process.
A suitable groove nut and a retaining plate are required for assembly and disassembly, as the sleeve is supplied in its standard version without these accessories. The fasteners must be purchased separately and must be compatible with the sleeve’s thread.
