The SKF 33022 single-row tapered roller bearing, measuring 110 × 170 × 47 mm, can accommodate high radial and axial loads simultaneously.
The 33022 tapered roller bearing is an open, single-row roller bearing in metric design. Manufactured in the Explorer version by SKF Rolling Bearings, the bearing geometry is characterised by precisely matched contact surfaces between the tapered rollers and the inner ring flange. The product supplied is a complete tapered roller bearing, comprising the inner ring with roller set and the separate outer ring. A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway and prevents the rollers from coming into contact with one another during rotational movement.
The single-row bearing accommodates high radial forces in combination with axial forces acting from one side. Due to the tapered arrangement of the rolling elements, some of the applied radial forces are converted into internal axial forces. In mechanical designs, a second tapered roller bearing is therefore usually fitted in a mirror-image configuration to accommodate axial forces from both directions. This paired bearing arrangement allows for the precise adjustment of operating clearance or preload to ensure a dimensionally stable shaft guidance.
Manufacturing is carried out to the standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1, meaning the bearing meets the standard requirements for dimensional and concentricity accuracy. The integrated sheet steel cage is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. As the inner ring, including the roller set, and the outer ring can be separated, both components can be fitted to the shaft and into the housing independently of one another. This simplifies the assembly process as well as subsequent testing and maintenance work.
The bearing has a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 47 mm. It is a single-row bearing in a standard design, specifically a metric tapered roller bearing.
Due to its tapered design, the bearing can accommodate both radial loads and single-sided axial loads. For axial forces acting from both sides, a second bearing is usually fitted in a mirror-image configuration opposite the first.
The specified temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. When operating within this range, care must be taken to select a suitable lubricant.
Yes, the outer ring can be fitted separately from the inner ring and the roller set. This separable design simplifies installation and the alignment of the components on the shaft and within the housing.
The sheet steel cage maintains a fixed distance between the conical rollers. This prevents direct contact between the rolling elements and keeps friction to a minimum during operation.
This specification refers to the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy. Bearings in this tolerance class are suitable for common industrial shaft mountings in mechanical engineering.
