The FAG 32207 tapered roller bearing, measuring 35 × 72 × 24.25 mm, is designed to accommodate combined radial and single-direction axial loads in mechanical engineering applications.
The 32207 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing from FAG in standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. It features truncated cone-shaped rollers that handle radial forces and single-direction axial forces. The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 72 mm and a total width of 24.25 mm. Thanks to its design comprising an inner ring, a flangeless outer ring and a guided set of rollers, maintenance engineers and purchasers alike are provided with a complete component for a wide range of industrial applications.
This single-row tapered roller bearing is primarily suitable for applications where high radial forces and single-sided axial loads occur simultaneously. Typical applications include gearboxes, drive shafts and guides in general mechanical engineering. Due to the tapered geometry, the rolling elements transmit loads in a linear fashion to the raceways. In practice, users often fit a second tapered roller bearing arranged in a mirror-image configuration to accommodate axial forces in both directions.
The 32207 tapered roller bearing features a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage that guides the rollers and enables an operating temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As the inner and outer rings are separable by design, both rings are fitted separately. When fitting, ensure that the axial bearing clearance against the mating bearing is set in accordance with the specifications. Manufacture to tolerance class P0 ensures dimensional interchangeability for industrial spare parts requirements.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a total width of 24.25 mm. These standardised dimensions facilitate direct replacement during maintenance work as well as integration into existing machine designs. Always check the fit on the shaft and in the housing before installation.
The tapered rolling elements simultaneously absorb high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. The contact angle ensures that the load is distributed evenly across the raceways. To achieve axial guidance on both sides, users generally combine two bearings mounted opposite each other.
P0 denotes the standard tolerance class, which corresponds to ABEC 1. It defines the permissible dimensional and geometric deviations for diameter and concentricity. This tolerance class fully meets the usual accuracy requirements in general mechanical engineering.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its strength even under these thermal conditions. For continuous operation, it is recommended to use a lubricant that is suited to the specific operating temperature of the overall application.
In single-row tapered roller bearings, the inner ring, together with the set of rollers and the cage, forms a single unit, whilst the outer ring is flangeless and designed to be removable. This design makes it possible to fit the inner ring and outer ring onto the shaft and into the housing in succession, which simplifies the assembly process.
The cage, made of pressed sheet steel, keeps the individual tapered rollers at a uniform distance apart and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. This reduces friction and heat build-up at the rolling contact. At the same time, the cage guides the rollers precisely into the load zone of the bearing.
