The FAG 32222 single-row tapered roller bearing, measuring 110 × 200 × 56 mm, is designed to withstand high radial and unilateral axial loads in mechanical engineering applications.
The FAG 32222 tapered roller bearing is a separable roller bearing in a standard design for high mechanical loads. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 56 mm, this roller bearing handles combined loads with precision. Thanks to the line contact of the tapered rollers, the single-row bearing can withstand high forces. The inner ring, together with the roller set, and the outer ring can be fitted separately, which makes handling during assembly easier.
Tapered roller bearings of this design are primarily fitted where high radial forces coincide with axial forces in a single direction. Common applications include general mechanical engineering and gearbox construction, as well as heavy-duty shaft bearings. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, they are usually fitted in pairs in an X or O arrangement with a mirror-image counterpart bearing. This approach allows the required bearing clearance to be precisely adjusted directly during assembly.
In the 32222 tapered roller bearing, a robust sheet steel cage guides the rollers evenly along their raceways. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius, making the component suitable for varying thermal conditions. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the bearing fits precisely into standard bearing seats. Designed as an open rolling bearing, the bearing housing requires a suitable lubrication supply and an external housing seal.
With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 56 mm, the tapered roller bearing has standardised dimensions. These standardised dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into industrial assemblies. Before mounting, it is advisable to check the mating surfaces on the shaft and housing.
Due to their design, single-row tapered roller bearings can only accommodate axial loads in one direction. By mounting them in pairs opposite a second bearing in an O or X configuration, axial forces can be accommodated on both sides. At the same time, this allows the necessary operating clearance to be precisely adjusted during final assembly using shims or shaft nuts.
Between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius, the dimensional stability of the rolling elements and the functionality of the sheet steel cage are fully maintained. The permissible operating temperature range covers many industrial operating conditions. The lubricating grease or oil used should be selected to suit the temperatures encountered during operation.
This classification corresponds to the conventional standard tolerance for rolling bearings. It defines binding limit values for the dimensional, geometric and running accuracy of the inner and outer rings. For the vast majority of conventional drive solutions and standard machines, this tolerance class provides perfectly adequate concentricity and fit accuracy.
The sheet steel cage is characterised by its low weight and high mechanical strength. It maintains a uniform spacing between the tapered rollers and reduces friction between the rolling elements. Furthermore, the material is resistant to common mineral oil-based lubricants as well as thermal fluctuations within the permissible operating range.
The outer ring can be completely separated from the inner ring, which retains the roller cage. This separable design simplifies separate installation into the housing and onto the shaft. Press-fitting is therefore carried out without any impermissible forces being transmitted via the rolling elements, which prevents damage to the raceways.
