The single-row SKF tapered roller bearing 32206, measuring 30 × 62 × 21.25 mm, is designed to withstand high radial loads and unilateral axial forces in industrial machinery.
The SKF 32206 tapered roller bearing is a separable roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. It consists of an inner ring with a roller cage and a removable outer ring. Thanks to the tapered arrangement of the rolling elements, this bearing is specifically suited to combined forces from both radial and axial directions. Maintenance engineers and designers use the 32206 design primarily in shaft mountings that require high rigidity with compact installation dimensions of a 30 mm bore and a 62 mm outer diameter.
The 32206 tapered roller bearing simultaneously accommodates radial forces and single-direction axial forces. Typical applications include gearboxes, pumps, wheel bearings and drive shafts in general mechanical engineering. As a single tapered roller bearing can only support axial forces in one direction, in practice users usually fit a second bearing in a mirror-image configuration on the shaft to act as a counter-support.
Tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the set of rollers, and the outer ring are fitted separately, which facilitates installation in housings and on shafts. During assembly, you adjust the bearing clearance or preload via the mating bearing. The sheet steel cage guides the rollers and is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. With the standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, the bearing meets standard industrial requirements.
The roller bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 21.25 mm. Before replacing the bearing, check the shaft diameter and the housing bore to ensure that the rings fit correctly within the unit.
Due to the line contact between the tapered rolling elements, the bearing transmits high radial forces as well as axial forces in one direction. To accommodate axial loads acting in both directions, a second bearing is always fitted in the opposite direction. This paired arrangement is used to guide shafts in gearboxes or axle drives.
The design is suitable for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its dimensional stability even under fluctuating thermal conditions. When commissioning the unit, ensure that you select a lubricant whose thermal operating limits are suitable for the operating conditions of your system.
This designation indicates the standard accuracy class for rolling bearings used in general mechanical engineering. The dimensional, geometric and running accuracy meet the usual industrial requirements for rotating machine components. For standard applications in gearbox or engine manufacture, you generally do not require precision bearings with tighter tolerances.
The inner ring, including the set of rollers, and the outer ring can be fitted separately, as tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining. This makes it easier to mount them onto the shaft and fit them into the housing bore. The axial clearance is adjusted only during assembly via the mating bearing.
A cage made of pressed sheet steel guides the tapered rollers and maintains a uniform distance between them. The design is characterised by its low weight, resistance to common industrial lubricants and thermal resilience. It is suitable for varying speeds in continuous operation.
