The FAG 33015 tapered roller bearing can withstand high radial and single-direction axial loads, with dimensions of 75 × 115 × 31 mm.
The 33015 tapered roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing manufactured by FAG. Thanks to its angular raceways and truncated cone-shaped rollers, this design dissipates combined loads. With a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 115 mm and a width of 31 mm, the component complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). A guided sheet steel cage maintains an even spacing between the rollers.
This rolling bearing is used wherever structures need to support both radial forces and axial thrust forces from a single direction simultaneously. Typical applications include shaft mountings subject to combined loads in general mechanical engineering and gearbox construction. As a single-row tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, in practice it is often mounted in pairs, with the two bearings positioned mirror-image to one another.
As a complete tapered roller bearing, this standard design is not self-retaining. The inner ring forms a single unit (cone) with the roller cage, whilst the outer ring (cup) can be fitted separately. This separable design facilitates installation in housings and on shafts. During assembly, set the operating clearance or the desired preload via the mating bearing. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 °C.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 115 mm and a total width of 31 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit when replacing bearings in existing gearboxes, bearing housings and machine designs.
Due to its design, this single-row bearing can accommodate high radial loads and, at the same time, axial forces from one direction. The tapered geometry of the raceways and rolling elements causes the lines of action to intersect on the bearing axis, which helps to ensure low-slip operation under combined loads.
Tapered roller bearings are not designed to be self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the set of rollers and the cage, can be handled and pressed into place separately from the outer ring. This simplifies both mechanical assembly and subsequent maintenance and inspection work at the bearing location.
This FAG roller bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 °C to +120 °C. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its shape within this temperature range and is suitable for standard lubricating oils and greases used in industrial applications.
P0 (in accordance with the DIN or ISO standard tolerance PN) corresponds to the standard precision class for industrial roller bearings, also known internationally as ABEC 1. It defines the permissible dimensional, form and running deviations for normal requirements in commercial mechanical engineering.
Unlike many other types of bearing, the bearing clearance in single-row tapered roller bearings is not fixed by the manufacturer. You only set the operating clearance or a specific preload during installation by aligning the bearing axially against a second bearing positioned in a mirror-image configuration.
