The SKF 32015 X tapered roller bearing, with dimensions of 75 × 115 × 25 mm, can accommodate high radial loads as well as unilateral axial loads.
The single-row tapered roller bearing 32015 X from SKF is designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined radial and axial forces. Thanks to its tapered rollers and raceways, this bearing distributes the forces acting upon it evenly across the contact surfaces. This complete roller bearing, with a 75 mm bore, 115 mm outer diameter and 25 mm width, belongs to the Explorer performance class. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration within the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The 32015 X tapered roller bearing is primarily used where high radial forces are combined with axial forces acting from one side. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and gearbox construction involving directed axial loads. As single-row tapered roller bearings can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, they are often fitted in pairs in an X or O configuration. Together with the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage, the bearing remains mechanically robust at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
This rolling bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, which corresponds to the standard precision for general mechanical engineering applications. The specified mounting dimensions of 75 mm shaft diameter and 115 mm housing bore require the surrounding components to be manufactured to exact tolerances. As the inner ring with roller set and the outer ring can be fitted separately, installation can be carried out in stages. The correct adjustment of the axial bearing clearance or preload against the mating bearing determines the subsequent smoothness of operation.
With an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 115 mm and a width of 25 mm, this version is suitable for standardised shaft and housing fits in mechanical engineering. These dimensions allow for integration into compact installation spaces. Before installation, it is advisable to check the design drawings.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers at a uniform distance along the raceways of the inner ring. The design combines low weight with mechanical strength and can withstand loads caused by lubricants as well as operational vibrations during continuous operation.
With a range of -30 to +120 degrees, the bearing covers typical operating temperatures in industrial applications. Within these limits, the rings and rolling elements retain their dimensional stability. To ensure smooth running, it is recommended to use a lubricant whose viscosity is matched to the specific operating temperature.
The P0 or ABEC 1 classification defines the standard tolerances for dimensional and concentricity accuracy. It represents the established standard for general-purpose industrial gearboxes and machine components. It specifies the permissible dimensional deviations for the 75 mm bore, the outer diameter and the bearing width.
Due to their design, single-row tapered roller bearings can only accommodate axial forces in one direction. A second bearing, arranged in a mirror-image configuration in an X or O arrangement, absorbs the opposing forces and stabilises the shaft in both directions. At the same time, the operating clearance or a defined preload can be adjusted by aligning the bearings with one another.
SKF’s Explorer series features optimised contact geometry and refined surfaces on the raceways and rollers. This design promotes the formation of a lubricating film at the rolling contact, reduces internal stress peaks and contributes to operational reliability under high combined loads.
