The SKF 32032 X tapered roller bearing accommodates combined radial and axial loads with standardised main dimensions of 160 × 240 × 51 mm.
The 32032 X tapered roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in the SKF Explorer series. The design comprises a flangeless outer ring and an inner ring with a guided set of rollers. This product is supplied as a complete tapered roller bearing with a bore of 160 mm, an outer diameter of 240 mm and a width of 51 mm. Thanks to the tapered design of the raceways and rolling elements, the component transmits simultaneously occurring radial forces and single-sided axial forces in mechanical engineering.
Tapered roller bearings of this type transmit high radial forces in conjunction with axial forces acting in one direction. As a single tapered roller bearing can, by design, only accommodate axial forces from one direction, they are usually fitted in pairs in mechanical assemblies in an O or X configuration. The second bearing acts as an axial counter-support on the shaft. The contact angle of the raceways determines the ratio of the axial loads that can be accommodated to the radial loads.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the raceways and prevents direct contact between the rollers. This cage design is suitable for standard lubricating oils and greases and covers a temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Thanks to manufacture to tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1), the roller bearing is suitable for standardised fits on shafts and in housing bores in industrial applications.
The bearing features conically arranged rolling elements designed to withstand combined radial and axial loads. Owing to the line contact between the rollers and the raceways, this design can withstand higher forces than ball bearings of a comparable size. It consists of an outer ring and an inner ring, together with a roller cage.
The main dimensions are 160 mm internal diameter, 240 mm external diameter and 51 mm width. These standardised dimensions comply with the metric system and allow for installation in standardised bearing seats in mechanical engineering and gearbox construction.
The roller bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This tolerance class meets the conventional accuracy requirements for shaft and housing fits in general mechanical engineering.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the sheet steel cage and the bearing rings retain their dimensional stability. The actual temperature limit during operation is largely determined by the lubricant used.
The outer ring can be fitted separately from the inner ring, together with the roller cage. This separable design facilitates separate installation into the housing and onto the shaft. During installation, the operating clearance or preload is adjusted via the opposing counter bearing.
