The single-row SKF 33113 tapered roller bearing, with dimensions of 65 × 110 × 34 mm, is designed to withstand high radial and unilateral axial loads in machinery and gearbox construction.
The SKF 33113 tapered roller bearing is a separable, single-row rolling bearing to standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1. It consists of an inner ring with a roller cage and a separate outer ring. Due to the tapered inclination of the raceways, this roller bearing transmits simultaneously acting radial and axial forces. The design as a complete bearing in the SKF Explorer performance class supports demanding industrial applications with optimised running characteristics.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel primarily use the 33113 tapered roller bearing in applications where high radial forces and unidirectional axial forces occur simultaneously. Typical applications include gearboxes and shaft mountings subject to combined loads. As a single tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, it is usually fitted in pairs in an X or O configuration against a second bearing during operation. This allows the axial clearance to be precisely adjusted.
This model belongs to the SKF Explorer category and is characterised by optimised materials and refined surfaces. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers evenly and withstands mechanical stresses during operation. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius, making the bearing suitable for a wide range of thermal conditions. The fact that it can be dismantled also facilitates the separate mounting of the inner and outer rings onto the housing and shaft.
The dimensions are 65 mm bore diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 34 mm overall width. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit when mounted on shafts and in bearing housings in industrial mechanical engineering. The outer ring is removable, which simplifies the measurement and fitting of individual components during assembly.
Single-row tapered roller bearings can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads from one direction. The tapered raceways ensure that combined loads are effectively transmitted. To provide axial guidance on both sides, a second tapered roller bearing is usually fitted in a mirror-image arrangement on the same shaft.
The approved temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the dimensional stability of the bearing rings and the functionality of the integrated sheet steel cage are maintained. When designing the assembly, please ensure that the selected lubricant is also suitable for the intended temperature range.
At SKF, ‘Explorer’ refers to an optimised version of standard bearings. It is based on refined rolling-element bearing steel, improved surface finish and optimised raceway profiles. This promotes the formation of a uniform lubricating film, reduces friction losses and helps to extend service life under demanding conditions.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to class ABEC 1 under US standards. This standard tolerance provides the dimensional and concentricity accuracy typically required for general industrial applications in mechanical engineering and gearbox manufacture.
The inner ring, together with the roller cage, and the outer ring are structurally separate. This allows you to mount the inner and outer rings independently of one another on the shaft and in the housing. This design simplifies maintenance work and enables the axial bearing clearance to be adjusted precisely during assembly.
