The SKF 23060 CCK/C3W33 spherical roller bearing, measuring 300 × 460 × 118 mm, with a tapered bore and C3 clearance, compensates for shaft deflection under heavy loads.
The SKF 23060 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing is an open rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving high mechanical loads. With a bore diameter of 300 mm, an outer diameter of 460 mm and a width of 118 mm, the design accommodates high radial and axial forces on both sides. Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing compensates for misalignment and elastic deflection of the shaft during operation. A sheet steel cage guides the symmetrical rollers evenly along the raceways.
This design is primarily used in industrial bearing arrangements where shafts are prone to deflection under load or where there are angular misalignments resulting from the manufacturing process. Thanks to the open design and the lubrication groove with lubrication holes on the outer ring (W33), lubricant can be applied precisely from the outside. This facilitates regular relubrication whilst the bearing is installed, without the need for time-consuming disassembly of the housing.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper allows for precise mounting on tapered shaft seats as well as with clamping or withdrawal sleeves. Axial press-fitting causes the inner ring to expand, thereby reducing the radial bearing clearance. The increased C3 bearing clearance compensates for this installation shrinkage as well as operational thermal expansion within a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees, ensuring that the bearing continues to run freely.
This open roller bearing features a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway to compensate for static and dynamic angular misalignment. Features include a tapered bore with a 1:12 taper, a sheet steel cage, a slightly increased clearance (C3) and a ring groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring to facilitate lubricant supply.
The dimensions are 300 mm internal diameter, 460 mm external diameter and 118 mm width. The bearing is made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) and complies with the standard tolerances of tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
The suffix W33 denotes a circumferential groove with several lubrication holes in the outer ring. This feature allows grease or lubricating oil to be introduced directly from the outside, between the rows of rollers and into the interior of the bearing, which facilitates relubrication whilst the plant is in operation.
The C3 bearing clearance compensates for the reduction in radial clearance when the inner ring is pressed onto a tapered seat. The increased initial clearance ensures that the required operating clearance is maintained even after a tight fit has been achieved and during operation-induced heating.
The operating temperature range is between -30 and +200 degrees. Thanks to the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage and the standard roller bearing steel, this design is suitable for industrial applications within this temperature range.
