The SKF 24030 CC/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing (150x225x75 mm) withstands heavy radial loads and automatically compensates for shaft misalignment during operation.
The SKF 24030 CC/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding drive applications. The barrel-shaped rollers run on a spherical outer ring raceway, which compensates for misalignment between the inner and outer rings. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the unit withstands temperatures ranging from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius. Thanks to its open design without an integrated seal, the bearing can be lubricated directly via the housing system.
Design engineers primarily use this bearing type in heavy-duty industrial applications subject to high radial forces. In such applications, shaft deflection and misalignment frequently occur, which would overload rigid roller bearings. The design, with an outer diameter of 225 mm and a width of 75 mm, offers a high radial load capacity. In addition, the rolling bearing accommodates axial forces in both directions.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This clearance helps to compensate for stresses caused by operational heating or tight fits on the shaft. The suffix W33 denotes a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, which facilitates the supply of lubricant directly into the bearing interior. The running accuracy to tolerance class P5 also ensures smooth running.
The bearing has a bore diameter of 150 mm, an outside diameter of 225 mm and a total width of 75 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions of the 24030 series.
The suffix CC denotes the internal construction with a sheet steel cage. C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. The abbreviation W33 refers to the lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring.
The bearing combines the standard dimensional accuracy (PN) for the mounting dimensions with increased running accuracy to tolerance class P5. This reduces the radial and axial runout of the rings during rotational movement.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +200 degrees Celsius. The standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel used and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage enable the bearing to be used even under severe thermal stress.
This is an open pendulum roller bearing designed for installation in sealed bearing housings. The housing provides the external seal, whilst grease or lubricating oil can enter the rolling element chamber unhindered via the W33 system.
C3 clearance is recommended where there are temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, and where there are tight shaft fits. Fitting this clearance reduces radial play, so that the initially larger clearance prevents the rollers from seizing up.
