The SKF 23222 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing, with a bore diameter of 110 mm, offers high load-carrying capacity and compensates for misalignment thanks to its spherical raceways.
The SKF 23222 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for heavy mechanical loads. With key dimensions of a 110 mm bore, 200 mm outer diameter and a width of 69.8 mm, this design is suitable for demanding shaft mountings. The barrel-shaped rollers compensate for angular misalignment between the inner and outer rings. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, this rolling bearing retains its dimensional stability within a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees.
This design accommodates high radial forces whilst simultaneously compensating for misalignment and elastic deflection of the shaft. The symmetrical CC rollers contribute to smooth rolling behaviour on the raceways. Thanks to its standard radial clearance, the bearing is particularly suitable for operating conditions involving moderate thermal expansion of the shaft. It is primarily intended for use in heavy-duty bearing arrangements where component deflection must be compensated for by the design.
The designation W33 indicates an annular lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design facilitates relubrication whilst the bearing is installed, as fresh lubricant can reach directly between the rows of rollers. The increased running accuracy to tolerance class P5 reduces runout error, which contributes to smooth running and a reduced tendency to vibrate. As this is an open bearing, ensure that the housing system and external seals are suited to the ambient conditions.
With an internal diameter of 110 mm, an external diameter of 200 mm and a width of 69.8 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions for heavy-duty shaft bearings.
The W33 variant is characterised by a circumferential lubrication groove with radial lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows lubricant to be fed directly from the outside into the bearing interior, between the rolling elements, which simplifies relubrication intervals within the housing.
This combines the standard dimensional accuracy (PN) on the mating surfaces with an enhanced running accuracy of class P5. The tighter P5 running tolerance reduces radial run-out errors and ensures low-vibration operation of the shaft.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the bearing retains its dimensional stability within these limits.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated seals. It is therefore necessary to fit an external housing seal to protect the rolling bearing from dirt and prevent the loss of lubricant.
A robust sheet steel cage guides the two rows of rollers. The component maintains a uniform spacing between the barrel-shaped rolling elements and reliably absorbs the forces encountered during normal operation.
