With a 280 mm bore and P5 running accuracy, the SKF 23156 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing offers high load-carrying capacity for heavy-duty industrial applications involving shaft deflection.
The SKF 23156 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for heavy mechanical loads. With a bore of 280 mm, an outer diameter of 460 mm and a width of 146 mm, this large bearing accommodates high radial forces as well as axial forces on both sides. The barrel-shaped rollers run on a spherical outer ring raceway, enabling the bearing to automatically compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. It is an open bearing made from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element steel with a sheet steel cage.
This bearing is primarily used in heavy-duty industrial applications and under high loads. Wherever static or dynamic misalignments occur, the angular-adjustable design counteracts harmful edge stresses. The component operates within a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. As it is an open roller bearing without an integrated seal, it can be integrated into the structure’s existing lubrication system.
This design combines standard dimensional accuracy PN with the enhanced running accuracy P5. This reduces runout error during operation and ensures smooth running when high demands are placed on guiding accuracy. The W33 designation indicates the integrated lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows lubricant to reach directly between the two rows of rollers, which facilitates relubrication once the bearing is installed.
The suffix CC denotes the design featuring a sheet steel cage and symmetrical rollers. The designation W33 refers to a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design facilitates the delivery of lubricant directly into the interior of the bearing.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 280 mm, an outer diameter of 460 mm and a total width of 146 mm. It is made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and withstands combined radial and axial loads.
This roller bearing is manufactured to PN tolerance class for dimensional accuracy, whilst its running accuracy is to P5 class. The tighter P5 running accuracy reduces radial deviations during operation and ensures precise shaft concentricity in demanding industrial applications.
As an open bearing, this model has no sealing washers. Lubricating oil or grease is supplied via the lubrication holes in the outer ring. The surrounding housing must provide an external seal to protect the bearing from contamination and lubricant loss.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. It features a standard radial clearance and a sheet steel cage. This temperature range must be taken into account during installation and when selecting the lubricant to ensure continuous operation.
