The SKF 23060 CC/W33 spherical roller bearing compensates for misalignment with a bore diameter of 300 mm and accommodates heavy combined loads.
The 23060 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing provides designs with an open roller bearing from SKF for industrial applications with high load requirements. The double-row roller arrangement on the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway automatically compensates for shaft deflection and misalignment. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel and fitted with a sheet steel cage, this design is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius with normal radial clearance.
Large shaft mountings in general mechanical engineering require components with high radial and axial load-carrying capacity. The 23060 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing compensates for misalignment caused by manufacturing or loading without additional edge pressures acting on the rolling elements. As the bearing is of an open design, sealing is provided by external housing seals. This is particularly suitable for applications where a continuous supply of fresh lubricant is required.
The designation W33 indicates an integrated circumferential groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. Grease or lubricating oil flows directly between the two rows of rollers via these channels, thereby facilitating relubrication whilst the bearing is installed. The designation CC stands for symmetrical rollers and non-guided inner ring flanges, guided by the sheet steel cage. With tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the bearing offers standardised dimensional accuracy for mounting on a 300 mm shaft.
The dimensions are 300 mm bore diameter, 460 mm outer diameter and 118 mm width. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when installed in suitable plain bearing housings or gearbox assemblies in accordance with the metric standard.
The designation W33 indicates a lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring of the bearing. This ensures that, during maintenance work, the lubricant reaches the contact surfaces between the rollers and raceways directly, which helps to ensure even lubricant distribution during operation.
This design features a standard radial bearing clearance. This configuration is suitable for typical fit conditions and standard operating conditions where no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings require an increased operating clearance.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The dimensional stability of the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the steel sheet cage remain fully intact within these thermal limits.
The design is open and has no integrated seals. The bearing housing is sealed externally by means of a housing cover or separate sealing elements, such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals, to prevent contamination and lubricant loss.
SKF fits this version with a sheet-steel cage. It guides the spherical roller bearings along the raceway, withstands mechanical loads and allows the bearing to be used up to the upper temperature limit of 200 degrees Celsius.
