The SKF 23032 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing combines dimensions of 160 × 240 × 60 mm with a high radial load capacity and a practical relubrication groove.
The SKF 23032 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving heavy radial loads. With a bore of 160 mm, an outside diameter of 240 mm and a width of 60 mm, the bearing automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. The open design, made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, is suitable for an operating temperature range of –30 to +200 degrees. This allows you to integrate a component capable of withstanding high mechanical loads into your drive system.
This double-row self-aligning roller bearing is particularly suitable for industrial applications and bearing arrangements where high radial forces and axial loads on both sides occur. The barrel-shaped rollers run on a common hollow spherical outer ring raceway. As a result, the design compensates for misalignment between the shaft and the housing without causing an unacceptable increase in friction. The component is used in designs as a floating or fixed bearing and proves its worth where elastic deformations of the supporting structure need to be compensated for.
The suffix ‘CC’ denotes two window-type sheet steel cages and an inner ring without a guide ring, which facilitates low-friction guidance of the roller sets. The designation ‘W33’ refers to a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This lubrication channel allows you to apply grease or lubricating oil directly between the rolling elements, which simplifies the relubrication process during maintenance. Please also note the running accuracy to tolerance class P5 with normal dimensional accuracy PN, as well as the standard radial bearing clearance.
With an internal diameter of 160 mm, an external diameter of 240 mm and a width of 60 mm, this design complies with metric standard dimensions. These dimensions enable a precise fit when installed on suitable shafts and in drive system housings. When designing the system, it is advisable to match the mounting shoulders to these dimensions.
Feature W33 denotes a lubrication groove running round the outer ring, with lubrication holes. This design allows lubricant to be introduced directly from the outside between the two rows of rollers into the rolling element chamber. This ensures that the lubricant is distributed evenly, which helps to maintain a reliable supply to the contact surfaces during operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. The design consists of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage. For use within these limits, it is recommended that the selected lubricant be tailored to the respective ambient thermal conditions.
The dimensional accuracy complies with the standard PN class, whilst the running accuracy is manufactured to the tighter P5 tolerance class. This combination reduces run-out errors during rotation. The more precise running tolerance contributes to smooth running and reduces vibrations in the system.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated cover or sealing washers. This allows the lubricant to circulate unhindered via the W33 lubrication groove. At the same time, the design requires an external housing seal, such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals, to protect the interior of the bearing from dirt, dust and moisture.
The bearing is designed with standard radial bearing clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for normal operating temperatures and typical shaft and housing fits. If significant temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, it is advisable to assess the operating conditions in advance.
