The SKF 22320 EK self-aligning roller bearing, with a 100 mm bore and an outer diameter of 215 mm, offers high load-carrying capacity for heavy-duty industrial applications.
The SKF 22320 EK self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row, open roller bearing designed for combined radial and axial loads. The 100Cr6 bearing steel and the robust sheet steel cage allow for a wide operating temperature range from -30 to +200 degrees. Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation.
This bearing is primarily used in heavily loaded bearing arrangements where high radial forces are present and misalignment between the housing and the shaft must be compensated for. Thanks to the integrated lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, you can apply grease or lubricating oil directly between the two sets of rollers. The open design, with a width of 73 mm and standard radial clearance, allows for direct integration with external housing seals and lubrication systems.
The suffix EK denotes a tapered inner ring bore with the standardised taper ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates installation on tapered shaft seats as well as mounting using clamping or withdrawal sleeves on cylindrical shafts. You can precisely set the required bearing clearance by axially sliding the bearing onto the shaft. In combination with the increased running accuracy P5 and standard dimensional accuracy PN, the bearing ensures smooth, low-vibration operation.
The designation EK denotes a sheet steel cage and a tapered inner ring bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates mounting on tapered shaft seats or, with the aid of a clamping sleeve, on cylindrical shafts, allowing the remaining bearing clearance to be precisely adjusted during press-fitting.
The bearing has a bore diameter of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 215 mm and a width of 73 mm. These main dimensions correspond to the standardised 223 series for self-aligning roller bearings and determine the installation space within the respective bearing housing.
The lubricant is fed directly into the interior of the bearing, between the two rows of rollers, via a lubrication groove recessed into the outer ring, complete with lubrication holes. As the bearing is of an open, unsealed design, protection against dirt and moisture must be provided by the surrounding housing.
Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel with a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage, this component is designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. This makes the bearing suitable for industrial applications subject to thermal stress in continuous operation.
The bearing combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) for standardised mounting dimensions with enhanced running accuracy to Class P5. The tighter tolerance on running accuracy reduces runout error during operation and ensures smooth rotational behaviour at higher speeds.
