The SKF 22312 E self-aligning roller bearing, measuring 60x130x46 mm, offers high load-carrying capacity, a lubrication groove on the outer ring and enhanced P5 running accuracy for demanding shaft mountings.
The SKF 22312 E self-aligning roller bearing accommodates heavy radial loads as well as combined axial forces and automatically compensates for misalignment or shaft deflection during operation. As a double-row roller bearing in the Explorer performance class, this design has an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 46 mm. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, the components are provided with the necessary dimensional stability. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be integrated directly into lubricated housing assemblies.
This self-aligning roller bearing is used in bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces and on shafts with low bending stiffness. The self-aligning design automatically compensates for misalignment between the bearing seats during operation. Lubricant can be supplied directly into the bearing via the lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring. With operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees, this design covers a wide thermal operating range.
The bearing combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) with the finer running accuracy of class P5. The tighter concentricity tolerance of the P5 class helps to reduce vibrations during operation and supports smooth running at higher speeds. The sheet steel cage guides the rollers whilst maintaining a low weight. As the bearing is of open design and has standard radial clearance, the housing seal and lubricant are selected to suit the operating conditions.
With a bore of 60 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 46 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions. These dimensions are suitable for use in standardised housing units for load-bearing shaft connections in mechanical engineering.
Grease or lubricating oil is fed directly between the two rows of rollers via a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. As this is an open design without integrated seals, the bearing assembly requires an external housing seal as well as initial greasing prior to commissioning.
The mounting dimensions comply with the standard PN tolerance class, whilst the running accuracy is to P5 class. This means tighter tolerances for radial and axial run-out. The more precise guidance reduces vibrations and promotes smooth operation.
This design features standard radial bearing clearance. Under normal operating conditions and with standard fits, this bearing clearance offers a balanced relationship between load-carrying capacity and operating temperature. In the case of very tight fits or temperature differences between the rings, the remaining bearing clearance should be verified by calculation.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. The 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability across this temperature range. For continuous operation, the selected lubricant must be suitable for the operating temperatures encountered.
The Explorer version is based on an optimised internal geometry and a finer surface finish on the contact surfaces. These design features reduce internal friction and wear, which helps to enhance the load-carrying capacity of the spherical roller bearing during operation.
