The SKF 22211 E spherical roller bearing, measuring 55x100x25 mm, offers a high load-carrying capacity and automatically compensates for angular misalignment during operation.
The 22211 E self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing from SKF in the Explorer series, designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm, the bearing can withstand high radial loads as well as axial loads on both sides. The open design, made from standard 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, features a robust sheet-steel cage. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, this bearing compensates for misalignment or shaft deflection.
The 22211 E self-aligning roller bearing is primarily used in shaft mountings subject to high radial forces and operational deflection. The spherical raceway in the outer ring enables the compensation of static and dynamic misalignments without unnecessarily increasing friction. The component is therefore suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications involving rotating shafts and combined loads.
In such environments, the roller guide absorbs shock loads. As the bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees, it is suitable for thermally demanding conditions in industrial machinery.
The lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring simplifies regular maintenance. It directs grease or lubricating oil directly between the two sets of rollers, ensuring a consistent supply of lubricant. The P5 running accuracy, compared to the standard PN dimensional accuracy, ensures low-vibration concentricity at higher speeds. When designing the system, it should be noted that this open bearing requires a housing seal to be fitted on site to prevent the ingress of contaminants.
This self-aligning roller bearing has an inside diameter of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. These key dimensions ensure that the roller bearing can be fitted precisely into suitable housings and onto standardised shaft seats.
In an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the internal area is exposed. They protect the bearing housing from contamination and moisture via the surrounding machine casing. Furthermore, this design allows for relubrication via the lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring whilst the machine is in operation.
The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. The 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage retain their dimensional accuracy within this range. To ensure smooth operation, select a lubricant suitable for the relevant operating temperature.
The normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the rollers and raceways when the bearing is unassembled. This radial clearance ensures that, once mounted on the shaft and when heated during operation, the bearing can rotate freely without becoming unduly stressed.
The dimensional accuracy PN complies with the standard tolerances for connection dimensions such as bore and outer diameter. Tolerance class P5 refers to a tighter running accuracy of the rings. This promotes smooth concentricity and reduces vibrations in the overall system.
The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along their raceway and maintains a uniform distance between them. This prevents the rollers from coming into direct contact with one another and minimises friction. At the same time, the sheet steel cage is characterised by its low weight and resistance to lubricants.
