The SKF 24136 CC/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing, measuring 180 × 300 × 118 mm, offers high load-carrying capacity, angular misalignment compensation and reliable relubrication.
The 24136 CC/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing is an open, double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined loads. With an inside diameter of 180 mm, an outside diameter of 300 mm and a width of 118 mm, this design accommodates significant radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from SKF’s standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the bearing is characterised by PN dimensional accuracy and enhanced running accuracy of class P5.
This self-aligning roller bearing accommodates high radial forces and axial forces in both directions in the event of misalignment or shaft deflection. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, the roller set self-aligns in the event of static or dynamic misalignment without causing adverse edge pressures. The open design is rated for operating temperatures from –30 to +200 degrees and requires appropriate lubrication via the surrounding housing.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial clearance to compensate for thermal expansion or tight fits during operation without causing disruptive stresses. The W33 design enables a direct supply of lubricant into the interior of the bearing via the circumferential lubrication groove and several lubrication holes in the outer ring. Two window-type sheet steel cages of the CC design guide the symmetrical rollers and contribute to a low weight.
With a cylindrical bore of 180 mm, an external diameter of 300 mm and a total width of 118 mm, the bearing complies with standard dimensions. This allows it to be fitted directly into existing bearing seats with identical mounting dimensions.
W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design facilitates regular relubrication during operation, as grease or lubricating oil is fed directly between the two rows of rollers. In this way, the lubricant is distributed evenly across the raceways and cages.
Bearing clearance class C3 provides greater radial bearing clearance than the standard version. This reserve compensates for thermal expansion caused by temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. Even with tight fits, the increased clearance helps to prevent unacceptable stresses during operation.
No, it is an open roller bearing without integrated grinding or cover discs. Sealing against dirt and moisture is provided by the surrounding bearing housing. The open design allows for the selection of a lubricant specific to the application and easy relubrication via the W33 bore holes.
The cage is made of pressed sheet steel, identified by the suffix CC. The two separate, window-like cages have a low mass. They house the symmetrical pendulum rollers and are suitable for the entire operating temperature range from -30 to +200 degrees.
This component combines the standard tolerance PN for the mounting dimensions with the higher tolerance class P5 for running accuracy. Thanks to tighter concentricity tolerances on the inner and outer rings, the bearing runs more smoothly, which has a positive effect on its vibration behaviour under demanding operating conditions.
