The SKF 22328 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing, measuring 140 × 300 × 102 mm, accommodates heavy radial loads and is designed to compensate for misalignment.
The SKF 22328 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore diameter of 140 mm, an outer diameter of 300 mm and a width of 102 mm, this bearing can handle high radial forces. The 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and SKF Explorer quality manufacturing ensure high operational reliability under continuous load.
This rolling bearing is particularly suitable for heavy-duty shaft mountings where manufacturing-related misalignments or load-induced deflections occur. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing adjusts to angular movement without generating significant edge stresses. It is primarily used in industrial gearboxes and heavy-duty drive systems subject to high dynamic loads. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius.
The suffix W33 denotes an annular lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows lubricant to reach directly between the roller sets, which simplifies the relubrication process and contributes to even distribution. The bearing features a sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance. Whilst the dimensional accuracy complies with class PN, the restricted running accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P5 ensures low-vibration concentricity of the shaft.
The spherical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 140 mm, an outer diameter of 300 mm and a width across flats of 102 mm. These standardised key dimensions require a precisely manufactured shaft and housing fit in order to fully utilise the permissible runout tolerances during operation.
The designation W33 refers to a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes on the outer ring. This feature facilitates the supply of grease or lubricating oil directly into the bearing, ensuring that the lubricant is distributed evenly to the rolling elements and raceways.
The outer ring of the spherical roller bearing has a continuous hollow spherical raceway. The two symmetrical rows of rollers can align themselves freely within it. This enables the component to compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing without causing localised overloads at the edges of the raceway.
As the bearing is supplied without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing requires an external seal to protect against dirt and moisture. The bearing can be operated with either grease or oil and should be lubricated regularly via the lubrication holes in the outer ring, in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The dimensionally stable 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the heat-resistant sheet steel cage retain their mechanical properties within this temperature range, provided that a lubricant suitable for the temperature is used.
Tolerance class P5 refers to a tighter concentricity tolerance for the inner and outer rings compared with the standard PN tolerance. This helps to reduce radial vibrations and ensures smooth, even running of rotating shafts in demanding industrial applications.
