The SKF 21305 CC open self-aligning roller bearing (25x62x17 mm) compensates for misalignment and combines standard bearing clearance with increased P5 running accuracy.
The SKF 21305 CC self-aligning roller bearing is a rolling bearing designed for industrial applications involving combined loads. With key dimensions of a 25 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and 17 mm width, the design accommodates both radial and axial forces in both directions. The open design allows for the selection of an application-specific lubricant during operation. As it is manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, the bearing is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees.
This bearing is primarily used in mounting arrangements where deflection or misalignment occurs between the shaft and the housing. The barrel-shaped rollers run on a spherical outer ring raceway, enabling the roller bearing to self-align. Typical applications include industrial bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial loads. Thanks to the Explorer design, the component features an optimised internal geometry, whilst the outer ring is designed without a lubrication groove and lubrication is supplied via the housing environment.
In the 21305 CC self-aligning roller bearing, a sheet steel cage guides the rows of rollers and keeps the bearing weight low. The tolerance class combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) with increased running accuracy to class P5. This ensures that the bearing runs smoothly and with low vibration. The designation CC stands for the internal design featuring a window-type steel cage. In conjunction with standard radial clearance, the open design requires the surrounding housing to be suitably sealed against dirt and moisture.
With a bore of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 17 mm, the bearing is suitable for standardised mounting spaces. Its compact design allows it to be fitted onto cylindrical shaft seats and accommodates combined forces within the housing.
At SKF, the designation ‘CC’ indicates an internal design featuring window-type sheet steel cages and a design without a guide ring. This design guides the rolling elements precisely and ensures stable running behaviour under varying operating conditions and under combinations of axial and radial loads.
The bearing has standard radial clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for conventional operating temperatures and typical fits on the shaft and housing. It helps to ensure that, once fitted, the bearing neither seizes nor exhibits excessive operating clearance, and rolls smoothly.
As the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore and has no integrated seals, the lubricant reaches the roller sets from the side. Depending on the requirements, lubrication is carried out using grease or oil, supplied directly via the sealed machine housing.
Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the roller bearing is designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. It is therefore suitable for industrial environments ranging from moderately cold conditions to high temperatures.
This bearing combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) with the tighter running accuracy (P5). Whilst the mounting dimensions adhere to standard tolerances, the P5 class reduces runout error during operation. This minimises vibrations in the structure and ensures smooth running of the shaft supported by the bearing.
