The SKF 2302 E-2RS1TN9 self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment whilst sealed during operation, with an installation dimension of 15 × 42 × 17 mm.
The 2302 E-2RS1TN9 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel with a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway. This design automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. The SKF bearing has a cylindrical bore of 15 mm, an outer diameter of 42 mm and a width of 17 mm. Thanks to its factory-fitted seal, this component is suitable for applications where contamination must be prevented.
Its main area of application is in bearing arrangements where angular misalignment between the housing and the shaft needs to be compensated for. Typical conditions include longer shaft spans with elastic deflection under load. As the rolling elements pivot on the spherical outer raceway, the bearing continues to rotate smoothly even with slight misalignments. The double-sided contact seal protects the raceways from ingress of particles and moisture.
The suffixes refer to two key features of the design: the designation 2RS1 indicates sealing lips on both sides that retain the lubricant inside the bearing and make it difficult for contaminants to penetrate. The designation TN9 stands for a ball-guided polyamide cage. This plastic cage is characterised by its low weight, elastic properties and smooth running. Together with the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0/ABEC 1, the component fits precisely into standard assemblies.
A double-row self-aligning ball bearing with a spherical outer ring raceway automatically compensates for angular misalignment and shaft deflection. This design features a cylindrical bore, seals that contact the shaft on both sides and a polyamide cage for good running characteristics in standard applications.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 42 mm and a total width of 17 mm. These dimensions fit into corresponding cylindrical shaft seats and housing bores of the same nominal size.
The designation 2RS1 refers to abiding sealing rings fitted on both sides. These seal the rolling element chamber against dirt and moisture and retain the grease filled at the factory within the bearing housing.
The abbreviation TN9 refers to a polyamide cage. This type of cage is lighter than solid metal cages, dampens running noise and absorbs shock loads elastically, thereby reducing wear on the balls during operation.
The roller bearing is designed for an operating range of -30 to +100 degrees Celsius. Both the sealing material and the polyamide cage are tailored to this temperature range and retain their dimensional stability within these limits.
This model is supplied with standard radial bearing clearance and in tolerance class P0 (equivalent to PN or ABEC 1). It is therefore suitable for conventional fits in mechanical engineering where there are no special requirements regarding bearing clearance.
