The SKF 2216 ETN9 double-row self-aligning ball bearing, in the 80x140x33 mm size, effectively compensates for misalignment caused by elastic deflection of the shaft.
The 2216 ETN9 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing designed for industrial applications. The continuous hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring allows the two rows of balls to be freely adjusted around the bearing centre. As a result, the bearing automatically compensates for misalignment and angular misalignment between the shaft and housing during operation. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6 with a cylindrical inner ring, this SKF design combines dimensional stability with the running accuracy of standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1.
This bearing is primarily used where angular misalignment between bearing seats or deflection of the rotating shaft under load needs to be compensated for. The double-row rolling element arrangement accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. Thanks to its open design without abiding seals, the bearing can be supplied with lubricating oil or grease directly via the surrounding system and exhibits low-friction running-in behaviour.
The suffix ETN9 denotes the version with a polyamide cage. This plastic cage is characterised by its low weight, which reduces the inertial and mass forces acting on the rotating rolling elements. The elastic material guides the balls with low friction and dampens operating noise. The rolling bearing, with standard radial clearance, is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
A double-row roller bearing with a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, which compensates for angular misalignment and shaft deflection without increasing friction. The SKF bearing has a cylindrical bore of 80 mm, standard radial clearance and operates with two rows of balls made from 100Cr6 bearing steel.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 80 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a total width of 33 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise replacement in standardised housings used in mechanical and plant engineering.
The abbreviation ETN9 refers to a polyamide cage. Thanks to its low weight, this type of cage reduces rotational inertia, dampens running noise and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The open design, which does not feature integrated sealing washers, allows for flexible integration into the plant’s existing lubrication systems. You can select grease or lubricating oil precisely suited to the application and, if required, supply the lubricant directly to the raceways.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the polyamide cage retain their dimensional stability and mechanical strength within this temperature range.
This roller bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard class. It therefore offers the dimensional and concentricity accuracy typical of general mechanical engineering.
