The SKF 2204 E-2RS1TN9 self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment during operation, with a bore diameter of 20 mm, an outer diameter of 47 mm and a width of 18 mm.
The SKF 2204 E-2RS1TN9 double-row self-aligning ball bearing supports radial loads and automatically compensates for misalignment or shaft deflection. Thanks to the common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the two rows of balls can adjust their angular position. The version made from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6 features a standard inner ring design and the standard tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) for common industrial fits.
This rolling bearing is particularly suitable for mounting positions where assembly inaccuracies or elastic deformation of the shaft occur. Typical applications include designs operating at medium speeds where misalignment between the shaft and housing is possible. Thanks to its self-aligning action, the bearing prevents excessive edge stresses. This design is particularly effective in dusty environments where dirt particles must be kept away from the rolling elements.
The factory-fitted, double-seal (2RS1) protects the interior from the ingress of contaminants and moisture. At the same time, it retains the lubricant fill within the bearing. The lightweight polyamide cage (TN9) ensures smooth ball entry and reduces inertia. The combination of the material and the seal allows for an operating temperature range of -30 to +100 degrees with normal radial bearing clearance.
This is a double-row self-aligning ball bearing with a spherical outer ring raceway, which compensates for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing. This variant has a 20 mm cylindrical bore, contact seals on both sides and a lightweight polyamide cage.
The main dimensions are 20 mm internal diameter (bore), 47 mm external diameter and 18 mm width. These dimensions determine the required radial and axial installation space for the bearing assembly.
The suffix denotes a sliding seal fitted on both sides. This design effectively protects the interior from dirt and moisture and keeps the lubricant inside the bearing.
The abbreviation TN9 denotes a polyamide cage. This material reduces the cage’s weight, minimises running noise and ensures that the two rows of balls are guided evenly within the bearing.
Due to the seals used and the polyamide cage, the permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +100 degrees. Within these limits, the materials and lubricant retain their mechanical properties.
This bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance. This standard clearance is designed for typical fits on solid shafts and in housing bores under balanced operating temperatures.
