The FAG 1212-TVH self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment during operation and has dimensions of 60 × 110 × 22 mm.
The FAG 1212-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing absorbs radial forces and accommodates misalignment between the shaft and housing. A common hollow-ball raceway in the outer ring allows the two rows of balls to be freely adjusted. Thanks to this design, the rolling bearing compensates for operational deflection of long shafts as well as misalignment resulting from assembly. With a bore of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm, it belongs to the 12 series.
This rolling bearing is typically used in shaft mountings where, due to manufacturing tolerances, it is difficult to align housings, or where shafts deflect elastically under load. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, the installation location requires a protected environment or a separately sealed bearing housing. Lubrication is provided via housing systems, either with grease or oil.
The suffix TVH denotes a polyamide cage that precisely maintains the spacing between the rolling elements. The material reduces the cage’s own weight and contributes to smooth bearing operation. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This design features a standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0, and is designed for standard fits in mechanical engineering.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised Series 12 for double-row self-aligning ball bearings.
The abbreviation TVH is used by the manufacturer FAG to denote a polyamide cage. This material dampens vibrations, ensures quiet operation and limits the operating temperature range of the bearing to a maximum of +120 degrees Celsius.
The inner surface of the outer ring is designed as a continuous hollow spherical surface. The inner ring, with its two rows of balls, can tilt freely within this surface within the limits specified by the design, thereby compensating for misalignment and shaft deflection without the need for clamping forces.
This open design, which has no seals, requires lubrication. The bearing must be lubricated before it is first put into service and must be relubricated at specified intervals during operation.
This model has a standard radial bearing clearance. This bearing clearance is suitable for normal installation conditions with standard fits on the shaft and in the housing, where there are no extreme temperature variations.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. This through-hardened bearing steel offers the necessary strength and wear resistance for continuous industrial use.
