The FAG 2305-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing (25x62x24 mm) compensates for angular misalignment and, thanks to its polyamide cage, operates with low vibration.
The FAG 2305-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing is designed for rotating shafts where misalignment or deflection may occur. With a bore of 25 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 24 mm, this rolling bearing belongs to the wider 23 series. The common spherical raceway in the outer ring enables the two rows of balls to automatically compensate for angular misalignment between the inner and outer rings during operation. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the component meets tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
This double-row bearing is primarily used where shaft deflection or misalignment between two housing positions cannot be avoided due to the design. Thanks to the self-aligning hollow ball raceway, the component prevents damaging edge pressures on the rolling elements. Relevant areas of application include shaft mountings with elastic deflection or separate housing seats. Under dynamic radial loads and moderate axial loads, the design ensures smooth, low-wear operation of the shaft.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight, elastic damping properties and low friction. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. As an open rolling bearing without sealing washers, the bearing requires external sealing of the housing environment as well as a regular supply of grease or lubricating oil, appropriate for the standard radial bearing clearance.
The component has an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 24 mm. These dimensions mean it belongs to the 23 series, which features a wider design.
The inner surface of the outer ring forms a continuous spherical raceway. Both rows of balls guide the inner ring, together with the shaft, in such a way that the rings can tilt relative to one another. The roller bearing thereby automatically compensates for misalignments caused by shaft deflection or housing misalignment without subjecting the edges to stress.
The abbreviation TVH refers to a polyamide cage. This material reduces the moment of inertia in the bearing, minimises running noise and offers good emergency running properties. The material is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees.
As this bearing is designed as an open roller bearing, it does not contain any factory-fitted seals. During installation, you must fill the bearing housing with a suitable grease or gear oil and protect the assembly from dirt and moisture using external sealing rings.
P0, or ABEC 1, denotes the standardised tolerance class for industrial roller bearings. It defines mandatory limit dimensions for bore, width and concentricity, which are technically entirely sufficient for the majority of general mechanical engineering and plant construction applications.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the internal clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. It is dimensioned such that perfect concentricity is maintained after the inner ring has been pressed onto a cylindrical shaft and during operation-induced heating.
