The SKF 2303 E-2RS1TN9 double-row self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 17x47x19 mm, compensates for angular misalignment and provides effective protection against contamination.
The SKF 2303 E-2RS1TN9 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel with a 17 mm cylindrical bore. Thanks to the spherical raceway in the outer ring, the two rows of balls adjust flexibly in the event of deflection or misalignment. In combination with contact seals on both sides, this roller bearing is particularly suitable for dusty operating environments where low-maintenance operation is required.
Its use is recommended for bearing arrangements where design-related misalignments occur between the inner and outer rings. Typical applications include general mechanical and plant engineering, conveyor drives or gearbox designs with flexible shafts. The component primarily absorbs radial forces, guides shafts and compensates for geometric inaccuracies. The double-sided sealing keeps foreign matter out, making the component suitable for harsh industrial environments subject to dust or moisture.
The E-2RS1TN9 design combines sealing lips that slide against the shaft on both sides with a polyamide ball cage. The sliding seal retains the lubricant inside and repels dirt particles from the outside. At the same time, the lightweight polyamide cage reduces the component’s own weight as well as the friction of the rotating rolling elements, ensuring smooth running. When planning, please note the permissible temperature range of -30 to +100 degrees, which is determined by the cage material and the sealing elements.
Two rows of balls run on a shared spherical outer ring raceway, giving the bearing angular movement capability. It automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. The SKF model comes fitted as standard with integrated sliding seals and a low-noise polyamide cage.
The roller bearing has a bore of 17 mm, an outer diameter of 47 mm and a total width of 19 mm. With the standard version of the inner ring, the component complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and is therefore suitable for standardised bearing seats in mechanical engineering.
Sealing lips on both sides seal off the interior of the bearing, preventing the ingress of dust, dirt and moisture. At the same time, they prevent grease from escaping from the bearing chamber. This reduces the maintenance required during operation compared with open designs.
This suffix denotes a roller cage made from injection-moulded polyamide. The material has favourable sliding properties, dampens running noise and keeps the moment of inertia low. The cage material plays a key role in determining the upper limit of the operating temperature range.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the balls and raceways when the bearing is unloaded. It provides the right balance between guidance and operational reliability for typical fit selections on shafts and housings, as well as at average operating temperatures.
This sealed spherical roller bearing is designed for use in a temperature range of -30 to +100 degrees Celsius. Both the standard roller bearing steel and the polyamide cage and sealing material are optimised for this temperature range to ensure dimensional stability and effective sealing during operation.
