The FAG 1205 -TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 25 × 52 × 15 mm, compensates for misalignment and offers reliable running characteristics.
The FAG 1205 -TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing is designed for mounting positions where shaft deflection or misalignment may occur. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the two rows of balls adjust their angular alignment during operation. The open bearing, made from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6, has a cylindrical bore of 25 mm, an outer diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. This provides you with a precision-manufactured component in tolerance class P0/PN.
This rolling bearing is used wherever static or dynamic angular misalignment between the shaft and housing needs to be compensated for. Typical applications include the mounting of long shafts and applications in general mechanical and plant engineering. As this is an open design, the bearing integrates directly into the customer’s lubrication system. Design engineers often favour this design when seeking to avoid the forced forces that would arise from shaft deflection in rigid bearings.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes a solid polyamide cage, which guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration and reduces the weight of the rotating masses. The increased C3 bearing clearance class provides additional radial play in the bearing. This clearance compensates for operational heating or tight fits without the bearing clearance narrowing to an impermissible extent. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As no integrated sealing washers are fitted, the bearing housing must be protected against the ingress of foreign particles.
With an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm, the bearing has standardised main dimensions. It has a cylindrical bore and a standard inner ring, which means it can be fitted directly onto shaft seats with the appropriate tolerances.
The outer ring has a continuous, hollow spherical raceway on which both rows of balls move together. This design allows the inner ring, together with the set of rolling elements, to tilt within the outer ring, which effectively compensates for misalignment between the shaft and the bearing housing during operation.
At FAG, TVH stands for a solid polyamide cage. This plastic cage is characterised by low friction, high elasticity and quiet operation. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This ensures that, even in the event of temperature differences between the inner and outer rings or in the case of tight fits, there is always sufficient clearance within the rolling bearing to prevent seizing.
As this model does not have any integrated seals, it is not pre-filled with lubricant at the factory. Lubrication is provided via the housing, using either grease or oil. An external housing seal protects the bearing housing from contamination and prevents lubricant loss.
The inner ring, the outer ring and the balls are all made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material contributes to high load-carrying capacity, good wear resistance and dimensional stability during operation.
