The SKF YET207 tension bearing, with a 35 mm bore, eccentric clamping ring and spherical outer ring, offers an easy-to-install bearing unit for industrial shafts.
The YET207 clamping bearing is a ready-to-fit rolling bearing from SKF, designed primarily for radial loads. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the component complies with tolerance classes P0/PN and ABEC 1. With a bore diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 38.9 mm, this bearing is suitable for precision-fit designs in industrial mechanical engineering.
It is primarily fitted in vertical and flanged housings with a spherical mounting bore. The spherical surface of the outer ring compensates for static misalignment caused by assembly inaccuracies or slight shaft deflection. The bearing absorbs radial forces and ensures smooth running. The seal, which runs on both sides, protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dust and dirt.
The bearing is secured to the shaft by means of an eccentric clamping ring fitted to the inner ring, which is widened on one side. Simply turning the clamping ring in the direction of rotation causes the inner ring to clamp firmly onto the shaft. An integrated threaded pin secures the ring against loosening. As the bearing is relubricatable, fresh grease can be precisely applied at operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees.
The clamping bearing has an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a total width of 38.9 mm. The width is due to the inner ring, which is widened on one side and incorporates an eccentric clamping ring, ensuring that the bearing sits securely on the shaft and minimising the risk of tilting.
The coupling is secured by means of the eccentric lug on the inner ring and the matching clamping ring. Turning the ring tightens the connection onto the shaft. A grub screw then secures the eccentric clamping ring to prevent it from coming loose accidentally under varying loads or vibrations.
The spherically ground outer ring surface serves to compensate for static angular misalignment between the housing and the shaft. When fitted in combination with a suitable housing, the outer ring aligns itself automatically, thereby counteracting edge loading and premature wear on the raceways.
The bearing is fitted with a double-sided sliding seal. The elastic sealing lips make direct contact with the inner ring and keep dirt particles out of the bearing. At the same time, they reduce grease loss during operation and protect the rolling elements.
The permissible operating range for this model is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within this range, both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the seal material retain their mechanical properties. Under demanding operating conditions, targeted relubrication helps to ensure thermally stable operation.
This model is designed to be relubricated and features lubrication ports on the outer ring. In dusty or damp operating conditions, fresh grease can be applied via a grease nipple on the housing. This forces out contaminated lubricant and helps to ensure a long service life for the bearing.
