The SKF yet205 thrust bearing, with an outer diameter of 52 mm and a seal that seals on both sides, provides protected support for rotating shafts.
The yet205 clamping bearing is a ready-to-install unit made from standard rolling-bearing steel for industrial applications. With a cylindrical bore, an outer diameter of 52 mm and a width of 31 mm, this roller bearing can be fitted directly onto suitable shaft seats. The component is manufactured by SKF and primarily withstands radial loads. Its standardised design facilitates repairs and provides a functional component for standardised assemblies.
This rolling bearing is used on rotating shafts in housing assemblies that must operate within a defined temperature range. The yet205 clamping bearing is specified for operating temperatures from -20 to +120 °C. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering, where loads are predominantly radial. Thanks to its sealed design, the unit is suitable for locations where dirt particles or splashing water may affect the bearing position.
The double-sided sliding seal contacts the inner ring with its sealing lips. This continuous contact forms a mechanical barrier against dust, moisture and solid foreign particles. At the same time, the lubricant remains inside the bearing. When installing the yet205 tension bearing, there is therefore no need to fit external sealing elements. During assembly, ensure that the shaft seat is clean so that the sealing lips remain undamaged when the bearing is slid onto the shaft.
As a ready-to-fit assembly from SKF made from standard roller bearing steel, the component combines a cylindrical bore with an external diameter of 52 mm and a width of 31 mm. Thanks to a seal that runs along both sides, the interior is protected from external contaminants.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 °C. Within this temperature range, the standard roller bearing steel and the sealing material retain their mechanical properties. For applications close to the upper limit, you should ensure that there is adequate heat dissipation in the surrounding structure.
Sliding seals make contact with the mating surface on the inner ring with a light contact pressure. This prevents fine particles and liquids from penetrating into the interior of the rolling elements. At the same time, they retain the lubricant within the bearing, which extends the service life of the bearing in dusty environments.
The bearing is manufactured from standard roller bearing steel. This material is characterised by its high hardness and resistance to rolling fatigue. It provides a dimensionally stable base for the radial forces that arise, provided the shaft connection is correctly designed.
The cylindrical bore requires a shaft with precise dimensions, the correct roundness and surface finish. Carefully slide the bearing onto the shaft without applying any impact to the outer ring or the seals. A smooth fit protects the rolling elements from premature damage.
