The FAG HJ320-E steel angular ring is used for axial guidance in cylindrical roller bearings with a 100 mm bore.
The FAG HJ320-E angular ring allows you to add an additional fixed raceway to compatible cylindrical roller bearings. This rolling bearing component is made of steel and has a bore of 100 mm, an outer diameter of 139.6 mm and a width of 20.5 mm. When used in combination with cylindrical roller bearings, the loose flange ring enables defined axial guidance of the shaft within the bearing assembly.
Cylindrical roller bearings, as radial bearings, absorb high radial forces but do not provide axial fixation without an additional flange. Where single-sided or double-sided axial guidance is required, the HJ320-E angular ring serves as a functional supplement. It absorbs axial forces by providing the rolling elements with a lateral contact surface. This allows the bearing arrangement to be flexibly adapted to the specified load direction.
To ensure correct operation, the ring is mounted directly onto the shaft against the inner ring of the cylindrical roller bearing. It is important to ensure that the contact surfaces are clean and that the flange is correctly aligned so that the roller end faces make proper contact. The suffix -E indicates that the product is designed for reinforced bearing versions. Before assembly, check that the product is compatible with the specific bearing version and that the shaft diameter is 100 mm.
An angular ring forms a separate guide flange for cylindrical roller bearings. When used in conjunction with NJ or NU series bearings, the ring enables axial guide forces to be absorbed. It guides the rolling elements axially and, when combined with a radial bearing, forms an axially guiding bearing arrangement.
The component has a bore of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 139.6 mm and a width of 20.5 mm. These dimensions correspond to the relevant cylindrical roller bearing series and allow the component to sit flush against the inner ring of the bearing.
FAG manufactures this ring from steel. The material offers the necessary dimensional stability and strength to ensure that the contact surface remains intact even under repeated axial contact loads from the end faces of the cylindrical rollers.
The suffix -E indicates that the bearing is a reinforced version with a modified internal design. The ring is geometrically designed to mate with the enlarged sets of rollers in the corresponding cylindrical roller bearings.
The ring is slid onto the shaft together with the inner ring. The flat rear side lies flush against the inner ring, whilst the raised flange faces the roller set. Careful, skew-free installation helps to ensure that the rolling elements run smoothly from the outset.
