The FAG QJ215-MPA four-point bearing, measuring 75 × 130 × 25 mm, accommodates axial loads in both directions whilst requiring minimal axial installation space.
The FAG QJ215 -MPA four-point bearing is a specialised rolling bearing capable of withstanding high axial forces in both directions. Due to the four contact points between the balls and the raceways, this design often replaces two angular contact ball bearings mounted opposite each other, thereby saving axial installation space. With a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, this bearing is suitable for demanding industrial applications.
Typical applications for the QJ215-MPA four-point bearing are found where predominantly axial loads occur and precise axial guidance of the shaft is required. The bearing is frequently used as an axial guide bearing, often in combination with a separate radial bearing. Thanks to the split inner ring and the open design, the rolling bearing can be handled separately during assembly, which facilitates installation in housings.
The variant with the suffix -MPA features a robust brass cage that guides the rolling elements and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. The split inner ring allows for a large number of balls to be accommodated, ensuring high load-carrying capacity. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the bearing location must be protected externally against dirt and supplied with a suitable lubricant.
A four-point contact bearing is similar in design to a single-row angular contact ball bearing, but, due to its special raceway geometry, it accommodates axial forces in both directions. The balls contact the inner and outer rings at defined points. As a result, the bearing requires less axial installation space than a arrangement comprising two separate individual bearings.
The QJ215-MPA four-point bearing has an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable precise integration into corresponding housing and shaft seats in mechanical and plant engineering.
The split inner ring is required by the design in order to allow the bearing to be fitted with a large number of rolling elements. Furthermore, this two-piece design simplifies installation and removal: during assembly of the bearing unit, the rings and the ball cage can be fitted onto the shaft and housing step by step and separately from one another.
The brass cage keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and withstands mechanical stresses and vibrations. It is suitable for the permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees and ensures low-friction operation of the bearing when there is a continuous supply of lubricant.
As the four-point bearing is supplied ex-works as an open version without its own sealing washers, the bearing housing requires effective external sealing against foreign matter and moisture. Depending on the installation situation and operating conditions, the rolling bearing can be flexibly lubricated via the machine housing using a suitable lubricating oil or grease.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 for dimensional and running accuracy. These specifications define precise concentricity tolerances for matching with suitable bearing seats on the shaft and in the housing.
