The FAG QJ210-MPA four-point bearing, measuring 50 × 90 × 20 mm, accommodates high axial forces in both directions whilst taking up minimal space.
The FAG QJ210-MPA four-point bearing is a specialised radial rolling bearing designed to accommodate axial forces acting in both directions whilst requiring minimal installation space. Due to the special raceway geometry, the rolling elements contact the rings at two points during operation under axial load, similar to angular contact ball bearings. With a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm, this design offers a compact alternative to double-row bearings. Designers use this variant primarily where tight axial clearances are required.
This four-point bearing is primarily suitable for designs subject to predominant or alternating axial forces. The model is often combined with a separate radial bearing, with the outer ring fitted with radial clearance to absorb purely axial loads. As this is an open design without a seal, you should incorporate the bearing into the machine’s lubrication circuit. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The two-piece inner ring allows for a higher number of rolling elements and significantly simplifies assembly. As the bearing is not self-retaining, the inner ring halves and the outer ring, together with the ball and cage assembly, can be fitted separately. The suffix MPA denotes a brass cage that offers high mechanical strength. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, the component is suitable for industrial applications requiring standardised manufacturing precision.
Thanks to the special shape of its raceway, a four-point bearing can accommodate axial loads in both directions whilst requiring only the width of a single-row bearing. The QJ210-MPA model features a split inner ring, a brass cage and does not require retaining grooves in the outer ring. It is suitable for machinery subject to combined or predominantly axial loads.
This version has an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. The product complies with the standardised tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. Before fitting, check the mating dimensions of the shaft and the housing to ensure that the bearing rings sit evenly.
The split inner ring allows a larger number of balls to be fitted into the raceway, which increases the load-carrying capacity. Furthermore, the bearing rings are not self-retaining. This makes installation and removal easier, as the outer ring with the ball cage and the two inner ring halves can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing.
In the case of this FAG bearing, the suffix ‘MPA’ indicates a version with a brass cage. Brass cages offer high mechanical strength and are also suitable for use under thermal loads within the permissible temperature range. The material ensures stable guidance of the balls in the raceway.
The model is designed as an open bearing without integrated sealing washers. Lubrication and protection against contamination must therefore be provided by the surrounding housing structure. You can operate the rolling bearing with grease or lubricating oil, selected to suit the speeds and thermal conditions of your application.
This bearing is approved for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the dimensionally stable bearing rings and the brass cage are designed for this temperature range. Ensure you select a lubricant that covers this range during continuous operation.
