The FAG QJ208-MPA four-point bearing accommodates high axial forces in both directions whilst maintaining compact dimensions of 40 × 80 × 18 mm.
The QJ208-MPA four-point bearing belongs to the radial ball bearing group and is primarily designed to accommodate axial forces from two directions within a limited axial installation space. FAG Rolling Bearings manufactures this version with a split inner ring and a solid brass cage. As an open rolling bearing without an integrated seal, the component is designed for use with external lubrication systems and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The bearing is primarily used where varying axial loads occur and the axial installation space is insufficient for double-row angular contact ball bearings. The model is often used purely as an axial bearing in combination with a separate radial bearing. As the outer ring has no retaining grooves, it rests evenly against the housing, contributing to stable guidance.
The two-piece design of the inner ring allows a greater number of rolling elements to be fitted, which increases the axial load capacity. Furthermore, the bearing is not self-retaining. You can fit the outer ring, together with the brass cage and ball set, separately from the two inner ring halves. When fitting, ensure compliance with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and the standard radial bearing clearance.
This bearing accommodates high axial forces in both directions whilst requiring only the width of a single-row bearing. The FAG rolling bearing design features a split inner ring, a robust brass cage and does not require sealing washers. Due to its design, the balls contact the raceways at defined contact points when under load.
The roller bearing has an inside diameter of 40 mm, an outside diameter of 80 mm and a width of 18 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for space-saving installation in industrial housings and shaft bearings.
The split inner ring allows a larger number of rolling elements to be accommodated. This increases the axial load-carrying capacity whilst maintaining a compact design. Furthermore, the split design facilitates the mechanical fitting and removal of the individual bearing components onto the shaft.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. The integrated brass cage retains its shape within this range. As this is an open bearing, you must select a lubricant suitable for the relevant operating temperature.
The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to ABEC 1. It has a standard radial bearing clearance. This combination is suitable for common fits in mechanical and plant engineering, where standard requirements for concentricity and guidance accuracy are sufficient.
As the bearing is supplied ex works without any seals, protection against dirt and moisture must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. During installation, the bearing is lubricated with grease or via a continuous oil circulation system.
