The FAG QJ305-TVP four-point contact bearing, with a 25 mm bore and a split inner ring, accommodates high axial forces from two directions whilst requiring minimal installation space.
The QJ305-TVP four-point contact bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a single-row angular contact ball bearing with four-point contact. With dimensions of a 25 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and a width of 17 mm, this design requires less axial installation space than a double-row bearing arrangement. Thanks to its open design without a seal, the rolling bearing can be integrated directly into an existing lubrication system for the entire plant.
This bearing is particularly suitable where axial forces act in both directions and rigid shaft guidance is required. Typical designs utilise four-point bearings for combined loads or in conjunction with a separate radial bearing. The split inner ring allows a greater number of balls to be accommodated within the bearing, which enhances the axial load-carrying capacity of the assembly.
The designation ‘TVP’ indicates a polyamide cage, which guides the rolling elements with low vibration and reduces the unit’s own weight. The bearing covers a temperature range from –20 to +120 degrees. With the standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) and standard radial clearance, the unit meets practical requirements in mechanical engineering. As the outer ring has no retaining groove, it is secured in the housing by an interference fit.
Thanks to its special raceway geometry, the bearing can accommodate axial forces in both directions. The split inner ring allows for the accommodation of more balls, which increases the axial load capacity. Thanks to its compact dimensions of 25 × 62 × 17 mm, it requires less axial installation space compared to double-row bearings.
The bore is 25 mm, the outer diameter is 62 mm and the bearing width is 17 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised nominal values for size QJ305.
The polyamide material ensures quiet ball guidance and reduces the moment of inertia of rotating masses. Compared with solid metal cages, the plastic cage also reduces the overall weight of the roller bearing.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees. The limiting factor here is primarily the polyamide material, which is designed for this temperature range.
As an open roller bearing, this model is designed for applications where lubrication is supplied via an external system. The absence of contact sealing lips prevents additional friction losses during operation.
This designation refers to the standard tolerance class used in mechanical engineering. Dimensional, geometric and running accuracy fall within the standardised basic tolerances, which are designed for standard industrial applications.
