The FAG 63003 -2RSR deep-groove ball bearing features a ground seal on both sides to protect against contamination and has compact dimensions of 17 x 35 x 14 mm.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 63003 -2RSR is suitable for applications where radial loads are the primary concern. In addition to radial forces, the design can also accommodate moderate axial forces in both directions. The rings and rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), whilst a sturdy sheet steel cage keeps the balls spaced apart. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +100 degrees.
The component is primarily used on rotating shafts where protection against environmental influences is required. Thanks to the cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove, the bearing can be fitted directly into standard bores. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly under industrial operating conditions and ensures smooth running.
The 2RSR suffix denotes two sealing lips that make contact on both sides. These seals lie directly against the inner ring. This keeps dust and moisture out of the bearing interior and helps to retain the lubricant within the raceway. Compared with open designs, maintenance requirements are reduced, which is why this design is recommended for dusty installation environments.
With an internal diameter of 17 mm, an external diameter of 35 mm and a width of 14 mm, this bearing has compact dimensions. The 14 mm width provides sufficient space for the sealing elements and the lubricant.
At FAG, the designation 2RSR refers to sliding seals fitted on both sides. The sealing lips come into contact with the inner ring shoulder and seal off the bearing interior. This helps to prevent the ingress of dirt and the leakage of lubricant.
This roller bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, which is designed for typical fit conditions and standard operating temperatures. It does not have increased bearing clearance, such as C3, so the radial operating clearance remains within the normal range.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which contributes to high dimensional stability under load. The integrated cage is made from sheet steel and guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway.
The permissible temperature range for this sealed bearing is between -20 and +100 degrees Celsius. These limits are determined by the material properties of the sealing lips and the lubricant contained within the bearing.
With a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1, the ball bearing meets the standard precision requirements for general machinery and equipment manufacturing. This manufacturing accuracy ensures standardised and dimensionally accurate fits.
