The FAG 6006 -TB-P6-C3 deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 30x55x13 mm and featuring a hard-fabric cage and increased C3 clearance, offers high running precision for demanding industrial applications.
The single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6006 -TB-P6-C3 combines proven rolling bearing technology with features designed for high-speed applications. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6). Designed as an open bearing, this version allows unobstructed access for lubricant in the case of circulating lubrication or targeted grease lubrication. The combination of tighter manufacturing tolerances and a lightweight hard-fibre cage ensures smooth running with moderate heat generation within the operating range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This rolling bearing is designed for rotating shafts that primarily accommodate radial forces and low axial loads. Typical applications include electrical machines, spindles or high-speed industrial gearboxes, where standard cages reach their thermal or dynamic limits. As the outer ring has no groove or flange, the component fits flush into cylindrical housing bores and requires a clean, external seal for the assembly.
The designation ‘TB’ indicates a hard-fibre cage that combines low friction with high strength at increasing speeds. Together with the P6 tolerance class, which corresponds to increased accuracy in accordance with ABEC 3, the design reduces unwanted vibrations and improves concentricity. The slightly increased radial bearing clearance (C3) compensates for thermal expansion between the inner and outer rings during operation, thereby helping to prevent the rolling elements from becoming jammed.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 55 mm and a total width of 13 mm. It can be fitted directly onto suitable 30 mm shafts and into 55 mm housing bores.
The abbreviation TB refers to a hard-tissue cage. This material is lighter than brass or steel variants, dampens vibrations and reduces friction on the rolling elements. This makes the component particularly suitable for designs involving rapid changes in speed or high speeds.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This clearance helps to ensure that the bearing rotates freely even when subjected to operational heat or tight fits on the shaft and housing, without the balls being subjected to excessive radial stress.
The P6 classification specifies tighter tolerance limits for dimensional and concentricity accuracy than those for standard bearings. This results in smoother running and reduces the transmission of vibrations to the surrounding structure, which is particularly important in drive systems and tool spindles.
As the bearing is supplied without integrated sealing washers, lubrication is provided either via an external oil supply in the gearbox housing or by manually filling it with grease during assembly. The housing must be separately sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt and the escape of grease.
The permissible operating range is from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Both the roller bearing steel and the cage material are designed for this range. When selecting the lubricant, care should be taken to ensure that the grease or oil is approved for the same temperature range.
