The 6315 deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager is an open-type bearing measuring 75 × 160 × 37 mm, designed for a wide range of industrial applications.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6315 from FAG Wälzlager is suitable for withstanding radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. As an open rolling bearing without sealing rings, its design allows direct access to lubricant via the surrounding housing. It is manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, ensuring dimensional stability during operation. The component features an outer ring without a flange or groove and operates within the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Design engineers primarily use the 6315 deep groove ball bearing in rotating shaft mountings where oil or grease lubrication is supplied via the installation space. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be easily integrated into existing lubrication circuits. The design accommodates high radial forces and provides stable support for rotating components. Thanks to its suitability for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +150 degrees, the bearing reliably withstands thermal conditions typically encountered in general mechanical engineering.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly in the deep raceways and keeps friction and noise to a minimum. The standard radial bearing clearance provides the appropriate operating clearance for standard fits and typical operating temperatures. As the bearing is not sealed, you should ensure a clean installation environment before fitting. Dirt particles or moisture must not penetrate the open raceways in order to prevent premature wear of the components.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. Before fitting, check that the shaft seat and the housing bore correspond to these dimensions.
An open bearing has neither cover plates nor contact seals at the ends. The lubricant reaches the rolling elements and raceways unimpeded. This design requires the housing to be sealed externally to prevent lubricant from leaking out and contaminants from entering from the outside.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +150 degrees. This operating range is based on the thermal resistance of the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage. Select a lubricant that is approved for the actual operating temperatures of your system.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard range of radial play between the rolling elements and raceways when the bearing is unmounted. This bearing clearance compensates for minor dimensional changes caused by temperature variations or tight fits. It is suitable for machinery operating at a constant temperature and typical speeds.
The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to ABEC 1 in the US. This standard tolerance meets the general requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy in conventional mechanical engineering and ensures a precise fit on standard shafts.
This bearing uses a sheet steel cage. It keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. The material is suitable for the entire specified temperature range and is compatible with all standard mineral oils and greases.
