The SKF 6314-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, with main dimensions of 70 × 150 × 35 mm and a ground seal on both sides, offers reliable protection against contamination.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6314-2RS1 from SKF is suitable for demanding radial loads whilst simultaneously accommodating moderate axial forces in both directions. As part of the SKF Explorer performance class, the bearing is manufactured from hardened standard bearing steel 100Cr6 for the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements. A robust sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements precisely along the raceway. The integrated standard bearing clearance serves to maintain balanced operating clearance when the bearing is installed.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians prefer to use this bearing size in industrial drive trains and rotating shafts subjected to combined loads. As the bearing, with a bore diameter of 70 mm and an outer diameter of 150 mm, can withstand high forces, it is suitable for both stationary machinery and mobile units. Thanks to its double-sided sealing, the bearing operates reliably even in dusty environments. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The suffix combination -2RS1 denotes abiding sealing discs fitted on both sides. These sealing lips lie directly against the inner ring and effectively keep foreign matter, such as dirt particles or moisture, out of the bearing interior. Furthermore, the seal prevents the uncontrolled leakage of grease, meaning that relubrication is not required during the bearing’s normal service life. This helps to protect the raceways from premature wear caused by abrasive particles.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width across flats of 35 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has no flange or groove.
The designation 2RS1 indicates that there are abiding sealing rings fitted on both sides. These seal the interior against moisture and contaminants and retain the factory-applied grease within the bearing.
The bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 (also referred to as PN), which corresponds to the international standard ABEC 1. This class fully meets the standard accuracy requirements of general mechanical engineering and drive technology.
This model has the standard radial bearing clearance (CN). The standard bearing clearance is designed for standard operating temperatures and typical fit selections on the shaft and housing, to ensure smooth, friction-free or play-free operation.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from conventional standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which offers high compressive strength. A cage made from pressed sheet steel is used to guide and space the balls.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is determined by the interaction between standard roller bearing steel, the seal material and the factory-applied grease.
