The SKF 6306-Z/C3 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 30x72x19 mm and a C3 clearance, offers stable operation under thermal loads.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6306 -Z/C3 accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, the bearing is characterised by high dimensional stability. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceways. Thanks to the single-sided sheet metal cover, the design protects the interior of the bearing from coarse particles, whilst the open opposite side allows targeted lubricant access into the housing.
Designs with single-sided lubricant supply primarily use this version in housings and drive trains where one side is within the lubrication zone. The single-sided Z cover plate keeps foreign particles away from the exposed side. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerance P0, the bearing fits precisely into bearing seats. Typical applications include general mechanical engineering and bearing arrangements operating at medium to high speeds.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This feature reduces the risk of the bearing seizing up if operational heating causes thermal expansion of the shaft or inner ring. Even with tight fits, sufficient radial clearance is maintained to ensure smooth running. At operating temperatures between –20 and +150 degrees, this design protects against premature wear caused by thermal constraints.
This deep-groove ball bearing has an inside diameter of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. This type features a cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove.
The suffix ‘Z’ denotes a single-sided cover plate made of profiled sheet metal. This gap seal does not come into contact with the inner ring and protects against coarse particles. The unsealed side allows lubricant to enter from the housing.
Bearing clearance class C3 offers greater radial clearance than the standard version. It compensates for dimensional changes caused by fixed bearing seats or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. This protects the rolling elements from overload during operation.
The bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees. Both the rings and rolling elements, made from 100Cr6 bearing steel, as well as the sheet steel cage and the metal cover plate, are suitable for this temperature range.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to ABEC 1. This standard tolerance meets the usual accuracy requirements for shaft and housing fits in general mechanical engineering.
